Harvest Moon Rune Factory
Hello, I am new here.
The problem I have with no$gba is with the game rune factory, well I know that there is a problem saving and loading savedgames and I already know how to go beyond that, the problem I have is that the emulator suddenly crashes whenever I try to enter the start menu, sometimes I enter the menu screen and the emulator crashes when I try to return to the normal game, also when I try to enter the shell house-thing in the beach it crashes too. Since I am the only one with that problem I have tried to fix it changing the setup but failed. The setup I have right now is Speed: Realtime 16.78MGHZ, Sound Output igital Stereo Sound Sample:44kHz(best) Nds Backup Media:EEPROM 64kbytes Force 50% step: Enabled/Disabled Force aspect ratio: Enabled/Disabled (I change the screen sizing, it seems to do nothing)The game runs quite fast and smothly, but there is a risk of crashing not only when trying to enter the start menu but in some rare cases when changing maps (exiting the house etc), and the fact that it takes forever to get the emulator to load a savedgame makes it unplayable for me. Thanks in advance for any help provided. |

I wish I could but I am stuck at the first day (holyday) and the game has been crashing since I first played, so no I am not using cheats. The version im using is v2.4f, btw I also got another image of the game for testing purposes and it crashes as well, I deleted the emulator and downloaded again and nothing. When I say "crash" I mean that the emu suddenly closes w/o any warning given.

make sure you're not pressing alt+x, because programs don't usually closes it self without an error.

Well it does closes itself and also keeps doing the same even on a fresh folder, and my buttons (A,B,L,R etc) are close to the "m", "," "." on the keyboard so is impossible for me to press alt x. I got FF3 and went quite far on it and never crashed no sign of any error at all ( I dont like ff3 is only for testing purposes), I reinstalled direct X and well... the only problem is with rune factory. I am almost giving up on the game, it keeps closing itself for no reason when I try to enter the menu screen and is very annoying. I tried dualis and dualis works fine, the problem with dualis is its trash-metalic-sound even on the best sample rate.

Same thing happened to me. Did you go past the beginning yet? Don't press start unless you go past talking to mist and you can walk around fully. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it does that at some point...

I have noted that no$gba does not update the .sav file whenever you save a game, it seems to update the save file when you CLOSE the emulator, this is extremely frustrating because even if you have saved many times inside the game the emulator does not do the same, and if the emulator/your OS crashes, all data will be lost.
Is there a way to FORCE the emulator to update the .sav file every time you save inside the game? |

2.5 saves better^^
But, for all 2.4f users over there... once your save is screwed up, youre screwed up, so backup with frecuenc. Come in your house WALKING... NO TURBO either, save the game... sleep, save the game, get OUT OF YOUR HOUSE, IN AGAIN, save, get out, and then keep playing (id say you should exit the emu after saving to check out if it saved, and not waste gameplay time, guys). This method is used by me and works ^^. |

The save file's supposed to load instantly. If it doesn't, reset and try again. You might need a little patience (One time it took me 2 hours... but don't let that scare you :P)
Game runs peachy on v2.4d... http://www.ngemu.com/nds/nogba.php?action=get&id=637 It's a good idea to keep backups of your saves handy in case they get corrupted-- copy & paste into another folder will do-- just stuff it back into your Battery folder later... (I do this to bypass Izuna's drop-everything-on-death rule too, but we won't get into that...) |

Don't wait for the file to load... if it 'spins' for more than 2 seconds, reset and try again. I meant it when I said instantly.
...Or maybe your save file's corrupted, in which case chuck in a backup or start a new game. |
