Loading a saved game (pokemon diamond) problem with 2.4a
I've looked around and haven't seemed to have found a solution to this problem:
I have all of the files necessary to play the game, save, and load. However, after closing the emulator, it's as if the game doesn't recognize my save anymore (even though it's still in the battery folder) and attempts to start up a new game. If I cannot recover the current save, is there a way for me to prevent this from happening in the future? Thanks for the help. Worst comes to worst I can download a new version of the emulator and a fresh copy of the rom and edit the save to get the pokemon I had back (magikarp levelling sucks )

Which version would you recommend? I was using 2.4e but whenever I'd try to load a save on it, the screen would go black.
I was using 2.4a because there was a link on a youtube "guide" on how to save/load. |

Ok, check this things:
- Patch: You have to have the game patched before playing. - BIOS: You don't need this in the later version - Decrypt: You have to encrypt the game if you use the new version. In the past, you have to decrypt it b4 using, now, you don't need to. - Save: I don't remember the exact save size, but you had better use the 2M Flash. |

Your ini might have become really messed up somehow, I suggest deleting it to see if that fixes the problem.

Well unfortunately that's the only advice I can give, I have never experienced anything like you describe before unless my ini was messed up (which happened once and I have no clue how it happened). On the new versions Pokemon simply just does not load for me.

if i remove the .sav's from the battery folder, the game starts up normally again, however, this isnt a solution to the problem
![]() if i open up the files with a save editor, things are all jumbled about; pokemon are missing, trainer/rival name is gibberish, etc. |
