This method worked fine for me, it was awesome hacking the save file and upon loading it there was only one problem I saw and that was the pokemon I added didn't get poke'dex credit, but no biggie really they still lvl and learn the moves that they are supposed to and when they evolve the data of the evolution goes into the dex. For Legendaries though this won't work since they don't evolve or breed. Guess when I have them all I'll just add the full poke'dex

Does a program like "pokesav edit" exists for previous pokemon games? (emerald, leaf green, fire red, sapphire, ruby)

I could use such a program to see the stats (including IV, EP and such) of pokemon from my previous games and then "transfer" them to pal park in diamond/pearl using pokesav edit, thus I won't actually be cheating, but just transferring my old pokemon to Diamond/Pearl (a feature currently missing in NO$GBA)

Until yesterday I have always followed these steps (underneath). And it works quite good. Only some times when I re-convert a NO$GBA SAV file to a GDS file (DS-Xploder) I get an error on my DS console that some data is damaged and that it will take the Save before this one.
I resolved this little problem just by saving 1 or 2 times more in NO$GBA so even when I get this error on my console I'm sure I still have a good save.

But now my question.
I have seen now that when you change
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Raw

my SAV file becomes 512KB and not anymore 521 KB. And I have seen also that I can open that SAV file immediately in Pokesav without using No$GBA > VBA Battery Converter.

Can somebody confirm me that this method is working ??

I will try today also this "new" method for me and I also try to reconvert this (512KB file instead of the "earlier" 521KB file) into a GDS file and maybe I will also be lucky this time not to have this "Data Damaged..." error on my console.
I use DS-Xploder for my savings fm cartridge to PC e fm PC (after playing some on the emulator and editing some with Pokesav) back to Cartridge.

Maybe somebody else have even better suggestions for me ??

1. Go to your NO$GBA BATTERY folder and copy your save file somewhere else in order to back it up in case you mess up.

2. Open NO$GBA.ini in notepad, scroll down to the line:
SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed
and change it to:
SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed

3. Open No$GBA (make sure your save type in NO$GBA is FLASH 512 kbytes) and continue your game. Save the game, and then quit NO$GBA. Check the size of your save file in the BATTERY folder. It should be over 500kb.

3. Use the follow program to convert your save file, it will remove the first 76 bytes of your save:
Freeware - No$GBA > VBA Battery Converter | KermEd@Gmail.com
To use it, click the "Configure" button and set the directory to where your new big save file is. In the empty text box named "New .sav File" enter a name for the new file you will make. Now select your Pokemon save and press convert file. It will create a new save file with the name you typed in.

4. Download the Pokemon save editor:
RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting
Open your new converted save file (the one you made in step 3) with it, and when you are done cheating your ass off, click save. Now take the new save file you just cheated with, and put it in your NO$GBA save folder. Now name it the same name of your original pokemon save, so that NO$GBA will load it when you play the game. That's all. Now I shall enjoy my 99 of every TM, and I had a sex change just for the hell of it.

Lastly, once you use your hacked save in NO$GBA and save, you will not be able to hack it again right away. Once you have used your hacked save in NO$GBA and saved, you must use the NO$GBA>VBA converter, then hack.

It only gets created after the first time you either save your options or run a game.

Make sure that under OPTIONS>Emulation Setup in the no$gba emulator, that you have this setting correct:

NDS-Cartridge Backup Media
FLASH 512kbytes

Hope this helps!

This thread is for hacking pokemon diamond/pearl save only. Please post your question on the correct discussion board. In this case, your question belongs in the Visualboy Advance Discussion section.

Greetings to you all. I'm new around here, and have a question about hacking some pokemon into my game. I know the basics of course, since I managed to stick a Darkrai egg in my storage box, but there are some other things I'd like to know and am hoping you'll be able to help with:

1) How do you make a Pokemon shiny in the editor?
2) Can someone tell me where to locate Shuppet, Nincada and Rotom .pkm files? For whatever reason, these simple unevolved forms aren't on the Pokesav Site Database.

To those of you who know about the relation between Darkrai, Shuppet, Nincada and Rotom (some more... evolved than others)... you must realize my intention; a team of Shiny Ghost Pokemon. And you might've noticed I'm also being (slightly) fair about it, since I want the unevolved ones wherever possible. Originally it was only going to be without Legendaries, but I just like Darkrai too much. Although I'm still on the fence with Giratina...

Anyway, can someone help me with the pokemon missing from the list and making them shiny? I'd really appreciate it.

If they aren't on the database and you're looking for legits, you'll have to look elsewhere... like eBay. <_> Don't think you feel like buying them, so... maybe you can just hack one and wait for the legitimiser part of PokeMod.

Anyway. Shiny mod is in the Pokemon's edit screen, click the 'Create' button next to the Attribute box. There, you can check 'shiny' and create a new Attribute number.

Sig is fixed, Shiny stuff has been found and darn, I don't wanna wait that long...

Thanks for the help!

Unrelated note: What, Darkrai ISN'T a Ghost type!? GORDAN FREEMAN!!! (I realized this while training it; he was hit by a Tackle, at which point I WTF'd.)

Run-time error 339: Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
Ugh ok I know this was already posted and i'm sorry but this is really starting to piss me off. I'm running 64bit VISTA. I have no idea what the location of this file should be (i'm talking about the RUN input, i don't know how to enter the RUN input for this file in Vista) but I already downloaded it from Kermed.

Quote:
Windows 95, 98, or Me:
regsvr32 \windows\system\COMDLG32.OCX

Windows NT or 2000:
regsvr32 \WINNT\system32\COMDLG32.OCX

Windows XP:
regsvr32 \windows\system32\COMDLG32.OCX
Ok I saw this already but it said for everything except damn Vista. Seriously. What the hell? And yes, I did already check Vista's system32 folder (manually) and COMDLG32.OCX wasn't there. (however i did find a file of the same name called 'comdlg32.dll') I copy and pasted the file ['COMDLG32.OCX'] there and nothing changed. (at this point i'd try anything) >_<

Alternatively, you can reinstall the Visual Basic Run-Time Files
For a second I thought "holy bedsheets this might help me!" until I read the system requirements.

Can somebody post instructions for Vista users?

Ah... I had this same problem on my Vista laptop.
This worked for me

Download the comdlg32.ocx file. Google it. I don't remember the exact site.
Anyway, after you copy it into your system32 folder, you go to Start/Accesories and right click on Command Prompt.
Run it as an administrator.

Then type these lines

cd c:/windows/system32 [enter]

regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx [enter]

And that's it.

Maybe you've done this, but then maybe you didn't do it as an administrator. I hope it helps.
