How to use mic for no$gba -- read!

I got email from this author. He is great guy and always email to me whenever I need him.

So I want to share it with you guys who want to use mic:

how to use a microphone???

In no$gba, have sound output enabled. Everyting else depends on you operating system, drivers, volume control, cables, plugs, etc.

Things that i don't know are: If the input level is okay, or if it's
too silent even when using maximum volume control setting. Ah, and on my computer I've noticed quite high feedback (higher than on real hardware), so the soind output (eg. music) is passed back to the microphone input - that might cause problems with games.

Never knew it supported microphone as well! Apparently the Sinnoh Underground in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl requires the microphone in some way.

Anyways I really want to send him an email congratulating how great his emulator is!

I don't know. I hadn't played it yet. Right now, I am focus on new super mario bros on no$gba. I am at 2-3 right now and I don't see any wrong with it. After that, I will try this one. Maybe you should do it.

What if you don't happen to have a microphone? Is there no way to produce a simple 'blow', without having to use the actual hardware(my mic is broken...)?

Buy a new mic they are cheap

They...are not that cheap over here. Mediocre quality ones are going on for about $15.

0_o....I bought a headset here for like...$4 when converted....no clue of it's quality...probably not very good....but bah it shoud last a month or 2...I have also bought some good ones and they broke aswell.
There should definately be something there...or don't they sell Genius junk there? Cuz that's what I have a pair of really cheap Genius clip-ons and a slighlty more expensive propper over the head headset...

No clue what standalone mics cost though...have a look at headsets and check if they are any cheaper.

They DO sell Genius, but because this is a third world country, everything is overpriced($4000 for a PS3! That should translate to around 1280 dollars).

I do know what you are talking about...I live in a Third-World Country pretending to be First-World so some of our stuff is also hectically overpriced.

The PS3 has not even arrived here yet. I imagine once it sells it will be like 6000 Rand though...which is like $1000 or possibly a little less.

We also have just about the highest net charges in the world....I pay around $50 when converted for a 512Kbps ADSL connection which is capped at 3GB a month of traffic. So once I exceed 3GB, bang I get cut off from the net.

aw man, my mic is gone, IDK where to find it, i'm almost done with the Phoenix Wright game too
EDIT* so I found my mic however it's not working, can anyone help me? this mike didn't come with a CD though
EDIT #2* so I tested my mic with a couple of IM program and it works fine. SO i'm wondering why it doesn't work for No$gba
EDIT #3* so i tested my mic with the control panel "sound and audio" and it works fine. but still doesn't work

Just plug some crappy headphones into your mic port, one side of the headhpones should work as a mic.

lolz in Brazil a mic isnt that xpensive, but wii(totally absurd!!!) and ps3 are.

PS3 - R$3999/US$2050
Back to the topic, thanks for the info, I didn't know about the mic support, I tried it when playing Poke P/D in underground after triggering a ****ing ember trap, I lost 2 precious skull fossil, but it didn't work =X, probably its the mic or my settings, gonna check it later.

i cant seem to get my mic to work at all, i have it plugged in, ive checked the settings and the microphone sounds at max, its just not picking it up at all any ideas?

lol zelda need a mic support too, but it seems my mic isn't working in no$gba i think that no$gba needs an option to emulate a simple blow to suppress those problems.
