I've gotten Mic input working easily (onboard sound). Even when my mic broke I got the input working (in an odd way). In the free audio recording program called Audacity I just swapped my mic input with normal sound output (when I did this all other programs now recorded what was playing in my speakers thinking it was the microphone). When I got to the fingerprinting parts of Phoenix Wright the music from the game itself was good enough to blow the dust away (albeit a slower than an actual blow would have).

Yesterday I tried to Play a Naruto game and I needed the Mic for one of sasukes technics, but when I blew, nothing happend. I played it on a 700Mhz Laptop which is pretty Old(Was designed for WindowsMe). So the Onboardchip cant be so new that it doesnt work. Is there any way to test if No$GBA even gets something?

P.S:I turned the Sound on right before I activated the Technic and my Mic was plugged in.

I think the biggest problem with the mic is that the games don't run propperly yet. Think about it if a game is sped up...won't the mic also be sped up? same with a game that's laggy, won't the inpunt then also be laggy and broken?
So just about any mic input is therfore broken and unrecognisable by the game being played.

Your right, but there are a few games that need mic, that are Working on 100% the whole time. and in this case there is no speed up. But still it didnt work for me.

unmute the mic in volume control and select the mic in recording controll like shown in the pictures..

if there is a input on any other programm than no$gba (msn, skype, favorit audio recording) then it does defnetly work in no$ too

Okay slightly less confusing explanation of what I did. You don't need a microphone to make this work. I have this free open source audio recording program called Audacity. In it you can select which source to record from in that drop down box from the top (as seen in the picture). It defaults to microphone, selecting Stereo/Mono mix makes it record from what's playing in your speakers. However instead of just just doing that, it seems to change what's being played directly into mic input in windows itself. Meaning if you leave it on Stereo/Mono Mix and close the program, put on some music and open anything else that records from the mic (teamspeak, windows sound recorder, skype) and you will notice it to will instead of grabbing mic input, grab what's being played. So if you don't have a mic, you can just leave it on Stereo Mix and any sound/music being played No$gba should think is mic input (as I said the music in Phoenix Wright 1 was good enough to blow away the fingerprint dust). Of course since mic input in No$gba only works if sound is on, you can't stop it from accepting the music as input at will (well you could probably just turn sound off for a second then turn it back on, I've no game that requires that to try it out on). This of course probably will make your mic useless, however simply setting the drop-down box in Audacity back to Microphone should make it work again in Windows. Hopefully that helps. Apparently Hiei-YYH and sigmax got this to work so hopefully it'll work for others.

Super Simple explanation minus the reasoning or observations above. Get Audacity, select stereo mix in the drop down box as pictured. Close the program. No$gba will now pick up sound being played as mic input, the emulator's music will have some effect, play something in an audio player for more noise.

Okay thanks Cyber34 it works like a charm. But it takes a while for it to work though
edit: On LoZ:PH I can some how easily make it work for left candles but I can't make it work on right ones for some reason. Do I need to be on a certain angle?

hello. i am running Vista. do you guys have any tips, cause i can't get get neither my mic nor Audacity to work. i read some guides on Audacity for Vista and did what they suggested to get different inputs... but i don't think i'm able to change it to the sound output...

EDIT - after toying around with my input settings for a bit, i got the audacity procedure to work. thank you!

I'm having a bit of trouble with this, the drop down box is grayed out for me, I can't select it. Any ideas?

EDIT: Well, I did some searching and found a way to select the stereo mix option but it's not working for the game. I'm playing Phenoix Wright, the part where you have to blow to remove fingerprint powder.

EDIT2: Actually it does work just took a bit of time. Also, the link that helped with the drop-down box being grayed out issue - Yahoo! Answers - No stereo mix option in audacity?

As the game itself is not running perfectly I doubt the mic works perfectly in it. Last thing I heard this game was unplayable because of that.
