You mean in Diamond? And did you rename this no$gba.inp file to firmware.bin?
I'm not sure but it looks like doing this is necessary if you wanna load saved game...! Today I deleted this renamed file(my "firmware.bin") and I only get black screen after choosing loaded game... Then I once again I renamed no$gba.inp file to firmware.bin and it worked! I can continue my game...!! It's really strange. Last edited by Grzeslav; April 8th, 2007 at 10:11. |

That charade has gone on long enough - some poor fool might think that doing that would actually be a good idea. I can't even begin to count the many ways how doing that messes up various functions. It should be obvious: get the real firmware. You're supposed to dump it from your DS (like I did), but there are no doubt other ways of getting it... Quote:

It won't let you change because you already have such a file in your folder, just make a new folder and call it backup or anything you want to..then drop your current firmware into there. After that you should have no more files named firmware in your folder and then you can change no$gba.inp to firmware.bin

You have to set it to start cartridge directly in the no$gba options and the save it, that's the only way it works because the the other option actually loads the firmware and because your'enot using the propper firmware it crashes. If you can't change the options fast enough just delete the no$GBA config file and reset and save all the options.

Or the graphics card...not sure exactly which it is. But it's obvious you have some nice specs. |

I believe that it relies on cpu processing rather than gpu processing, because my friend has a GeForce Fx5200, and his speed are not much better than mine.
If no$gba could have a direct3d rendering using graphic cards, I think that everyone would get just awesome speed. But for now I guess that it's only on software rendering |

Advance Wars: Dual Strike runs with some issues in this version. Sound works great, but very very choppy whenever 3D effects are being used on either screen. Basically, during the title screen, menu, or during an actual battle. It runs perfect when everything is purely 2D on both screens, but 3D lags it down to like 50% on my PC.
Also, some transparency-related effects do not show up or work right still. The selection cursor doesn't appear, the info box in the bottom corner has additive-looking translucency, the tile highlights for movement, and the day change thing all have graphical problems. Also, there appears to be a problem with equipping CO skills. Rachel is Rank 2 but when equipping skills it says she is rank 0 and won't let me actually equip them because of that. Sounds like actual gameplay data isn't being emulated properly in that case still. my PC specs are P4 2.6ghz, 512mb DDR400 ram, and 128mb ATI Radeon 9600 pro. Is my computer really that sucky nowadays?=/ The graphics in AWDS don't look like they'd normally tax my system, but it's emulated really bad. i use 16.78MHZ Realtime Auto, Digital Stereo, High (44khz) sound, 24bit truecolor, VGA poppy bright, Flash 256kbps (EEPROM dont work in this game). Turning off the sound does NOT speed up the laggy portions of the game though, but the sounds/music get really ugly sounding when it is running at 45-50%. |
