NGZoom - Download and Discussion

Took me awhile to find but after registering to a chinese site I got it, I think this might be the newest version to. As far as I know this is the first link for this from a allowed site.

*snip*
*snip*

Enjoy, do not ask me how to make it work, I am not sure how I did it for myself. Also from what I have read, and personal experience, if you do get it running it will instantly close itself when run a game if you have Vista 64.

GL&HF and if you find solutions to its Vista issues and instalation errors please post here. Finally does anyone know what this program does different that let's it fix some games that do not work otherwise like TWEWY? Someone please rehost somewhere that follows this forums rules, these are done with free accounts so they will not last long.

To the Mods: If this .rar is unacceptable please tell me what I can do to fix it, it sounds like this program can fix some of the good but nonfunctional games and I have not seen another functioning download link to it here

Remove no$gba 2.6a. Provide only NGZoom.

I will remove your links for now until you reupload without the current donate-to-get-it-early no$gba version in the archive.

I'm going to assume from schumi's post that this thing (alone) is legal. If it's not, snip it, all I did was google it.

NGZoom.rar

I don't care much for it so far.

Edit:
Ahem, I also checked it to make sure it was only ngzoom.

Two attachments: Seems to be all updated.

I went to check it out and realised that there are two new "surprises", those nuff said. I hope it's going to be added to the "External prgrams of No$gba" stickied thread soon.

Here they are, attached below.

NO$Zoomer version 2.2.0.0 (Zip file)
NGZoom 1.0.0.1 (7z file)

Already checked both of them, and both don't have the latest No$gba.
Attached Files
File Type: zip NO$Zoomer2.2.0.0.zip (138.6 KB, 849 views)
File Type: rar NGZoom.rar (1.03 MB, 1214 views)

Yes, alone it's fine.
Obviously a source would preferable to just a random upload (so that the author gets the credit he deserves), but I too have googled NGZoom and have not found a single link anywhere which was not either hosted on an illegal site, distrbuted with illegal material, or simply on a site going against the forum's rules so I understand and accept that that's not possible.

Source:
<snip>
True source of No$Zoomer 2.2.0.0 Only contains email address links.

<snip>

I'm quite good with Chinese, but not good with Japanese, in case you don't know. NGZoom.rar contains two files, "NGZoom.dll" and "NGZoom.dll-old". The former is version 1.0.0.1, but the latter is version 1.0.0.0. So, I assumed the file I attached is the latest version of NGZoom so far.

I just said that in this case a source can't be provided because they all either exist on a site which has links to roms or come with the current-to-get-it-early no$gba version 2.6a thus I have removed your links as they are no different.

Oh, I forgot about that. Going to edit it, since all sites have the latest No$gba. In that case, should we not care about the sources?

Well with tom's links I will not repost unless needed, I am just glad that people can dl it without using translator sites to stumble around chinese sites.

Still wonder why this program makes some otherwise nonfunctional games work and why other similiar programs do not do the same. Would be great if myzoom or nds2x incorporated those differences.

Has anyone found a workaround yet to make NGZoom work on Vista 64?

Woah! This may as well be considered a spiritual continuation of No$gba.
It seems to fix quite a few emulation issues:
lost magic runs.
Luminous Arc doesn't have the enemy stacking problem.
Very nice.

There is no NGZoom 1.0.0.1, at least none that I can find. There is one version of the program that I found yesterday which seems to be more updated than the one posted here. I included a readme file in the compressed file. Anyone who wants to use this program should look at the readme as well as NGZoom.ini file.

Edit: look at my other post here for a bit updated version.

I feel stupid, turns out TWEWY works without NGZoom. The button that starts the game is in the top left corner, round, and completely blacked out to the point you cannot see it. All chat bubbles, people, and half of the cinamatics have the same issue. Sorry if this is what people meant by it not working, til now I could not find the button.

NGzoom is still completely nonfunctional though even after I made a batch file that runs it around 20 times during the game's loading with delays of various length.

That was exactly the problem. You can't enjoyably play a game when you can't read the dialogues, navigate the menues or basically see where you're going.
On the matter of running NGZoom, you might be already aware that for unknown reasons it is unusable under Win XP 64bit and Vista 64.

Yep I know and have informed others of it many times, but that does not stop me from trying everything I hear to try and fix it. The batch was just hoping to get lucky and have it run at the right moment

I didn't notice until last night, but its great that ngzoom fixes the FF4 text issues completely. Too bad it blows everything up so large that the game looks horrid.

Yes I have tried every single one shown, every solution mentioned, and personal trial and error. NGZoom just simply does not work on 64 operating systems yet...chances are it never will. That is the only thing I hate about vista the compatability issues.

Thing is it's actually running...just it does not appear...or accept input...

How do I know this? I disabled desktop composition on NGZoom which disables Aero temporarily whilst the app is in use and it remained disabled all the while no$gba was in use after being launched with NGZoom (and it itself does not have desktop composition disabled on it) and Aero promptly was enabled again as I closed no$gba.

Vista compatibility is great in most cases...better than XP...and XP64 suffers from the same issues in this case.
