People really need to remember to look at paintings and TVs in Pokemon XD, if you look at the painting just before you leave your room then it would tell you to press 'X'.

okay - quick question .
i`m not sure if i missed this in the questions or not , i was just skipping around to find questions about saves .

but , how is it you save for DS games if you don`t snapshot them ? or can you ? o:

or would you just save ingame like normal , and when you load the cartridge , it shows your saved game like a normal ds ?

thanks . (;

That's right, just like a normal DS. AFAIK, snapshots (or save states) don't work with No$GBA.

If you actually use the search function in this thread, or at least try using your internet browser on the first page, then you should know that snapshot only works for gba games currently. This means that you will have to use the in-game save function to save your game.

You should read/skim this FAQ thread (again?). >_>

Guys I really can't make this FAQ any more simple....just check the index and use your browser's search function (FFS I even explained that function)...

Asking in the FAQ thread about a question answered in the FAQ. A new low point of noobism. Sorry if this insults you, gabbyrahwr, but it's just true.

Ingame saving is not an emulator function, it's the way the game actually saves regardless of what it's run on (or in simpler terms the way a DS game saves on a DS) and thus it's one of the first things that has to be emulated, long before save states are possible and thus every emulator that's any good has to support that "function".
People simply use and prefer save states because they are more convenient and some games are only saveable at specific save points...they are however an entirely non-natural thing and therefore quite hard to emulate

It's a similar question to the snapshot question, but...

Is it possible to have more than one SAV file per game? If so, how is that done? Is it possible to link between two SAV files (like multiplayer)?

Well yes you could have more than one save per game, but it would be entirely up to you to manage them as the game itself only recognises one save. By that I mean you could play the game for an hour and save (make sure it wrote to the HDD by reloading (not resetting) the game, or use NO$Zoomer's command to commit the save file) then exit and go to the battery folder and copy the save to a different folder like perhaps called "Me". Then delete the save in the battery folder and your brother can have a go play for an hour a repeat the same procedure as before but this time copy it to a folder called "Brother". Then it would be up to you when you get back onto the system to copy your save located in the "Me" folder you made earlier back to battery directory and then when you are done playing save it propperly again and move it back to the "Me" folder. And so on and so forth, basically it's nothing that the emulator can do, only something you can do.

However some games do feature seperate save slots so theoretically you could play a game and Save in the game's first slot and and then someone else could start an entirely new game and save in the second slot. So you would both be playing the game on the same save file but just using different slots....however this is only a theory...and in practice it may end up different for instance when starting a new game the game may decide to wipe the data present in it's save slots...not to mention very few games actually use multiple save slots.

As for linking, no, a DS game can't be linked to ANYTHING on no$gba or iDeaS or NeonDS. DeSmuME is a little better in this regard, but the only additonal feature it has is that a GBA game can be inserted into a DS game for instance to receive a sepecial item...and I am not sure how well that feature actually works.

So the short answer for linking is no.

Well, if someone will make an addon for no$gba that supports Wi-Fi, you'll be glad

The other emus are more likely to get wifi first than a hacky addon.

It's pointless to speculate...fact is none of the current emulators currently have working WiFi or any way to link a DS game to anything aside from DeSmuME which has implemented a feature to insert a GBA cartridge for special items, but I have no idea how well it work.

Just asking since ive done everything that you said to make my thing run faster but it works at the start fine 100% around 30 fps then randomly i drops to like 30% and like 5 fps.
Is there any way to make it constant 100%? Without overclocking cause my laptop cant handle it.

The reason why you are experiencing that slowdown is most likely because your laptop can't maintain 100% without overheating. So what's happening is that the processor is getting too hot and it's underclocking itself to cool down again. That's my guess anyways and pretty much the only thing you can try there is a cooling pad for your laptop.
