i see, oh well, 'internal recording' sounds like something relatively simple to setup in a computer, i'll just have to look into how to do it on vista.

on the other hand, i've no idea what im doin w/ that audacity program

That thread got destroyed a long time ago for some reason in which I don't know. Anyways, as for the grayed out drop down box, you can check this site instead.

okay, well i guess it just can't work for my computer, the drop down box still remains 'grayed out.' maybe i will just avoid games that need the mic.

i did find out plugging an old speaker into my microphone jack actually picks up sound when i blow into it, according to my control panel. is it possible to use this as a mic for the emulator?

Have you try opening a wav, mp3, or whatever format file in audacity? Also, have you try different version of audacity? You can also try updating your sound card driver.

If your speaker is able to pick up sound, I guess it should work as a mic in the emu.

i've got the newest version, and tried all of the other stuff just now, no good still.

but i might have gotten somewhere, now i have 'Stereo Mix (Realtek high defini..' enabled and selected as recording in the Audio I/O tab. This is something I didn't realize was disabled in my control panel, do you think this will help? That selection box is still greyed out though.

Also, forgot to ask this in my previous posts, but which game have you tested it on (some games have some mic issue even with a working mic)?

Did you enable the microphone input (if you need help in enabling the input, I suggest you go check this site)? If that doesn't work, then try a different version of audacity.

okay, here is a screen i took of my recording devices tab, these are the only options I have. Never used the 'Line In' (think it refers to the headphone jack) but yea, when it was plugged in (speaker i found) the 'Microphone' was always enabled

I was using Dinosaur King for testing the mic, but I didn't really like the game so I've deleted it since. on that note, is there a game that requires almost immediate mic use, so i have somethin to test with?

I don't use Vista, so I can't help you much there. You can try increasing the microphone's volume and see if that works or not.

As for other games that uses the mic function immediately, I can only think of one of the minigames in Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo Tales that uses the mic function. There might be other games, but that's all I can think of right now.

You can try a 'My [language] Coach' app (can't call those games). My Japanese Coach sports a mic recording and replaying option; most likely the other ones do, too.

Unfortunately not, the author himself mentions on his site that pretty much no DS emulation is possible at this stage in the DOS version due to the graphics distortion current occuring. (if ever? I doubt DOS allows all the programming calls he needs plus there's the touchscreen problem)

Question blue screen

after about half hour i play pokemon fire red,it gives the error with program not responding(the program is the EXPLORER ) and after 5 seconds all closes and a blue screen appears and i don't know why it does because i played fire red a lot of time before and it didn't crash, but now it does(on the same PC)... i think my computer can run it cuz i have 4GB RAM,Quad Core CPU 2.4GHz working at power of 9.6 and Nvidia GEforce 9800GT 1GB video...

May we have this on the FAQ regarding GBA linking?

This?

EDIT: I think it can be placed in the other FAQ, not this one here.

It's not no$gba's fault. There is a hardware or software fault somewhere on your system. It's up to you to find and fix it. no$gba has nothing to do with it, other than accessing whatever is damaged/corrupted.

O yeah, I forgot I have editing abilities now. Yeah I will place a link in the main post of the original FAQ.

Edit: Actually no, I am going to unsticky the old one and sticky that instead. Most GBA questions are about linking anyways.

You pressed the wrong button. The correct button is X, not Start.
