Porting would be require a very significant effort, given how optimized it is currently for PC architecture (Windows as well ;p ). There's also only so much a port could manage to do on weak hardwared (such as java and symbian cellphones). If it manages to work, cool. If it doesnt't, I doubt the author would make it a priority (even for $. $ doesn't solve everything)

you DO understand that comparing Java/Symbian cellphones to Windows Mobile cell phones... is... like night and day... 3GWeek - Asia’s Mobile News | HTC Touch Pro Review by no means... is it weak hardware... for a PDA OR a Phone... ive seen PocketGBA... but sadly the dev seems to be hospitalized for the last 2 years... i wish him best of luck and speedy recovery but since its seems this has such a base with it, it SHOULDN'T be that hard to port... (this is all just coming from what i have read... please make no comparison to me and programming as my skill in programming is nill... im taking the words of some of the devs who have ported the NES/PS1/2 emulators to the PPC environment...) EDIT: from what i understand from them and from others who make regular apps for the WM6.1 OS its nearly a replica of some parts of Winblows... If it is so, then i resign my question but id at least like an official answer from one of the devs or at least someone who speaks for one... thanks... |

I dont quite see why you are bothering to try and get no$gba developed on a pda/smartphone when it is much cheaper to buy a ds. Also it wont play ds games anywhere at a playable speed even on the one you are mentioning, as for gba or any form of other emulation it is up to developers if they choose to do it. Even if wm6.1 is nearly a replica in any part of winblows (your wording not mine) it requires time effort and depending on how well the emulator is written it may need a complete rewrite as significant demand for it. As for my experience with winmobile pdas (including HTC thouch pro), it is still not an ideal platform for software development since you cant be sure the software works reliably on any pda other than it was made for and sure while wm6.1 tries to allieviate it but still it has to cater for ones with keyboard, ones with only a touch screen and ones with buttons. Its more up to devs if they want to do it than if it can be done so if you really want on winmobile ask the devs directly. I cant see the point and since the winmobile 6.1 isnt still an ideal platform for gaming still and not many has windows mobile it seems pointless compared to porting to psp and iphone since they are more popular and consistent hardware. I havent seen a win mobile having the same hardware when compared to another one and it wont be in the future so it will mean more trouble for the developer. |

There is only one developer and that's Martin...a guy who has authored numerous emus for PC. All his emulators however are closed source. He allone descides what does and does not happen. Now it's highly unlikely that no$gba will ever be ported as that would require martin to also possess various PDA's and Windows Mobiles...to be able to port it to them....and it's highly unlikely he will ever get any. Also he does not come online much so I am afraid your question is unlikely to ever get an answer or the desired result.
