Hi everybody,
I've searched the forum thoroughly but couldnt find any info regarding my problem: I'm running no$gba 2.6 on my dual core cpu equipped with a 256mb gforce and plenty of ram. For the first, let's say, 5-10 min of play everything runs smoothly (100% all the way for most games) then, after that time, the game slows down radically (60-70%)... the music and the frames starts skipping, I start crying... I've noticed that when I open no$gba options dialogs for some time and then close it, the game runs at full speed again for some time... I've noticed this problem in many games: Megaman RX, Etrian Odyssey, Castlevania, etc. So I assume it is general. I tought it was something like, say, a cache problem... Can you help? |

ahh that happened to me before...
here's what i did to fix it (in order): **This was the problem associated w/ my laptop** OVERHEATING: i took my laptop apart and cleaned every nook and cranny, (not that nookie)... anyways then it worked 100% fine my laptop was like 4~5 year old and i don't have that blowjob in a can thingy ppl spray in their air ducts. If that didn't work, u can try the following, in this order: * boost up pagefile size to 500~750mb (higher is better 0.0.. i think it's b/c u ram is getting used up that's why) (if ur ram is like 500mb i have this problem, if ur running windows vista that's why ur comp is slowing down, switch to xp) * use a ram defragger that constantly runs in the background * use a starup editor, there's probably a lot of junk running not showing up * uninstall or reinstall xp sp2 (if ur using windows xp) now that ur problem is squared away, someone help me emulate rondo of swords!!! |

either you need to add more cooling to your cpu when you put its on a load after awhile, ive noticed that in some long gaming time while its running and need to take a breather, either that or other programs are using the cpu intensely at the same time, try bringing up the task manager when you notice the reduction of speed and see the culprit, or better yet, find the temperature of the cpu's when it happens.

Hey everyone!
I've tried cleaning my fan, I monitored the temperature and cpu speed and ram. So, every other program closed, here's what I've found: The heat of the two cores effectively goes up during play... but not enough to cause a problem (more or less 75C, wich is what I get in every game other than ds emulation) The processor' use is the interesting thing: it stays low for some time and then, for apparently no reason, it starts climbing up and up until the game runs so slowly I cant stand it anymore and close it. When I open the options and wait a little, the use % drops to almost nothing. I then close the dialog box and continue playing. The speed is normal for some time and then, bang! it's back to the summit and the game isnt playable anymore. I cant understand or find a logical answer, here's a hint: in FF, crystal chronicles, the game starts slowing down only during those 3d movie sequences while everything runs smoothly ingame. I've tried changing the options, tried opengl too... no use. I think it has to do with a buffer or cache... something that could fill up, you see? |

How much RAM do you have by the way?

emm FFCC is suppose to slow down during movie scenes and return to normal once those ram intensive things are over... for my laptop that is.
So did u clean the motherboard and fan like i told u? and elevate the wind blowing portamajiggy so it isn't blocked by ur table? 75C isn't a big deal? yes it is... |

75º C is a lot for a CPU, 60º is an acceptable temp... You can try with some thermal grease between your cpu and heatsink, it would help lowering down your temps..
