to use this skin, you need NOZ. you can get NOZ here (check first post)

okay, my first skin.
i called this No$GBA-4-DS
tried to mimic an NDSLite running a flashcart's firmware
i've design both normal and rotated view to bedifferent, since NOZ make it possible to start noz directly into rotated mode

and oh, it's has transparancy, grass image outside skin is my desktop background *just incase someone curious and thought that it would look like that in your pc.

i've also made blank blue screen for anyone who wanna customize their own image

do not use this image, download the file instead in the other thread. since this image was optimized, so this image's magenta colour isn't pure magenta hence transparancy will fail

okay, a new skin
i know i said i'm goning to make iPhone skin this time, but it seem that i'm still obsessed with No$GBA-4-DS lol. so i put iPhone aside for a while, and come up with this white version of No$GBA-4-DS with all of it's glamourous visual.
they say you can't find perfection, you must make one yourself. i id that on this one, instead looking for nintendo's product image (can't find any with high res and high quality, only got bunch of crap), white DSLite was build from scratch. every single pixel of it, giving it a much cleaner visual. since it 'home made' DSLite, it wuld also be easier to get 1.5-2x skin with the same quality, though i'm not encouraging 1.5x-2x skin size. since it's gonna eat up all your desktop space. i only got 1280*800 pixel LCD display, so 1.5x is the biggest size i've test so far.

just a little info if you wanna use bigger size. in skin mode, NOZ won't apply filtering, even though you activate filtering, therefor, bigger display size would give you poor quality on game display. not to mention that NOZ use BMP :| kinda dissapointing, since i can't implement alpha channel in it (corner get jaggy edge using bmp transparancy method - if this actually can be called transparancy-) and the file size, oh man.. spare me please. i've tried to make 1.5x and 2x skin, for 1.5x each image would weight roughly 2 Megabytes give you 4Megabytes total for a skin, it doubled on 2x skin, each file roughly about 3.8MB (total 8MB per skin) :| 24bit PNG would be a lot better in quality and size rather than 24bit BMP :|

Hmm so you are not going to try and make the skin work for 2x screensize aswell? I am sure lot's of people want a quality skin for that.

I think 1.5x should be the max, since the skin image might get a bit distorted. And good job in making the skin Tyo.

2x skin is quite easy and i can do it.
but apparently in skin mode, NOZ didn't apply filtering (probably the author assume user only use 1x display) even though i enable filtering in the menu (only work for normal mode i guess)

maybe i'll make 1.5x and 2x version of this skin later
about the distortion, well, it can't be avoided since i don't have high res nds image.
but i can do something about the small image in the process to make it less distorted.
i was about to enhance the original 1x earlier, but it seem i forgot.
lol, got too many layers to work with that skin in my photoshop

can you make it so the edges are cut out so you only see the ds image? just like the original white version.

when you open the program the image will appear without them so don't worry about it
they transparent once is active with the program.

lol, anyway, soon after that last skin is done, i came to a realization. it seem that i spend more time looking at the skin -without even starting a game- longer than playing NDS with that skin

I like all thease skins, That one with the robot how did you bled it into the black ds?, Nice work keep it up!.

I down know cut around a image so they is no white around the edge do you know of any good software to do this ?.

teh one with that robot (samus aran from metorid), that's JVhell's image
ask him in his thread btw, it's just simple compositing, play around with layers and all done, you could try it with any image editor (i recomend some that have layer feature)

cutting edges, nothing as good as your own had and eyes any application will do, everything depend on your will to do it
personaly i use Photoshop, been a PS user since PS 5, up until now i'm using PS CS 3 extended. nothing has change about image extraction or selection. pen tool has always been my best companion
polygonal tool also nice once in a while. to make a quick selction.
ans something a 1 pixel eraser in pencil moed or block on (using 3200% zoom) also a needed for finishing touch.
since most of teh time PS always use anti aliasing, so you'll always get a bit of transparancy (alpha channel) mixed in your selection edge or when you use brush or eraser even though on 100% hardness.

so, again, it's all come back to you, wanna do it into small detail to get the best result or a quick result that give enough satisfaction.

i love it it looks awsome cursedseraph hey can you make the drawing in bottom darker just a bit more darker that what is now it would look better that way but i still love it nice work.


Update: i have fix border corners with unfinished transparencies now tranparencies are finish and good to go.
