You can't. Not even sure if you ever will be able to. If you want to catch pokemon only available via the GBA game occupying the GBA slot, then you'll have to use Pokesav or Action Replay codes to force them to appear.

The feature is fairly pointless as far as emulation is concerned. It's also a feature that the newer DS's Nintendo is working on will no longer have (can't provide sources). Several months ago I read a news article that said the newer model DS's will probably no longer have a GBA slot and thus won't be backwards compatible anymore. Good thing I have a first generation DS.

Those rumors about a new DS without a GBA slot were just rumors. I doubt anything will come of them, at least not for a long time. (DS micro eventually?)

I wonder about how true it is though.. It'd be interesting if they are waiting for declining sales before releasing this new revision, would it mean they were expecting sales to drop soon, or just overly cautious?
