I didn't really know where to post this, but is a microphone needed to complete the game?

nope, you don't need microphone to complete this game
i've come quite far, and don't need one (about half the game done), i believe the rest won't need it either (i didn;t continue my game, so sorry for incomplete answer)

It does. When you go underground to search for treasure and fossils, there can be traps. One traps sets you o fire or something and you have to blow in the mic to extinguish it.

It doesn't interfere in the game. Just interferes on getting treasures. ;p

lol, went underground once or twice, but never really need to use those.
yups, so mic isn;t really needed f you only want to beat the game

Going underground is an added feature that gives you access to some exotic items and Pokémon (fossils, as it were). It isn't needed to go down. Also, if you are careful, you can evade every trap.
Also, GigaSP, your post could be rated as indirect mention of piracy. I'm not one to nitpick, but threads have been closed for less.
