NGEmu arcade finals starting on 29. April 2004

The month is nearly over, and it's time to get started with the previously announced NGEmu arcade finals. Tomorrow is the last day to get into the high score lists, before the results will be taken and the first matches will be announced.

To prevent that this takes weeks and months, we decided that the maximum response time for a battle request is 2 days - if you haven't responded after 48 hours therefor, the other person will automaticly win the match.

The finals will be played in a game which will be announced the moment the finals start. It'll be added into the games list, so everyone can practice during the matches.

Until then

So the final battle will be an entirely new game no one played before? If that's the case, do you have enough games to release every month?

My guess will be that Bobbi will use torunament-style elimination (like they use in the NCAA). Since there are 10 games and 10 contestants, 2 of the contestants will get a "first-round bye", chosen by random. There is no way to rank the players, so random numbers will have to do.

In conclusion, you go through each branch until there are 2 people left, and then the final game starts

I'm currently top in 3 categories. I don't know how long this will last, but I know I will be unable to participate in any finals until mid august. Is there a way for me to "pass on" the participation in the finals to the 2nd place guy?

sure ^_^ it is your decision after all

the only problem is that I dunno when the tournament will start. It was suppose to be at the beginning of May, but I guess the deadline is passed already. If I have some extra time after final exams, I'll make sure to make arrangements for at least a July tournament

If there's a July tourn, theres no way for me to come, so if I still have top score in something, just give it to whoever's in 2nd.

i'm not sure how many people will be able to sit on a computer participating in a flash game tournament on the 4th of july . Maybe make it the 3rd, it's still a weekend date.

it doesn't really matter when we start the tournament. There will always be a 48-72 hour grace period before someone gets disquailified

exams are over, so I can focus on getting this tournament up

****...we got 19 games. It would of been much easier if we had 20 (so I could split the tournament into 2 brackets)

nothing anymore....things went especially well the last few hours. I might get a replacement motherboard from the company, and I got my old rig working again Hate to put you people in this position, but the tornament is back up and running

One problem though...I can't seem to find a logical way to keep track of everyone's scores. The only way I can think of is to issue challanges between the 2 opponents, but only the players who are competing can issue the challenges. Only if there was some way I could issue challenges to 2 different people.....
