MemcardRex

Updated to ver 0.2b.

MemcardRex is a PSX memory card explorer/editor.
Following memcard formats are supported:
  • ePSXe/PSEmu Pro Memory Card(*.mcr)
  • DexDrive Memory Card(*.gme)
  • pSX Memory Card(*.bin)
  • Bleem! Memory Card(*.mcd)
  • VGS Memory Card(*.mem, *.vgs)
  • PSX PSP Memory Card(*.vmp)
  • PSXGame Edit Memory Card(*.mc)
  • DataDeck Memory Card(*.ddf)
  • WinPSM Memory Card(*.ps)
  • Smart Link Memory Card(*.psm)
  • MCExplorer(*.mci)

I haven't done much testing so I'd appreciate the feedback.
Suggestions are also welcome.

The one thing I was wondering is should I go with the "default windows look" or make the application skinnable (like Emu-Raptor for example)?

Seems to work quite nicely so far. One thing I don't like is the cursor resetting back to the top of the list when you do something like change the region of a save. But otherwise I have found no problems so far.

As for the look-and-feel you asked about... I'm generally one of the those who likes the default look (and I use a classic theme, which I much prefer over the XP look). Maybe you could have an option to adapt to the current OS theme (current behaviour), or allow skinning? That way everybody is happy...

I fixed the issue you mentioned.
List won't be reset back when you change the region or edit the header.
However when you remove, delete or restore a save it will refresh, as the change needs to be validated.

Very nice Shendo! Are you going to implement icon replacement/editing and saving of PS memory card icons? I'll think of more when ideas come to me.

This is really nice. I was just looking for information on RAW Memory Card dumps so that I can compile a Memory Card CD for the PSX that saves for all my favorite games and this little application will save me the trouble of trying to write conversion routines. Thank you.

I could try to implement a .bmp import/export feature.
That way you could save an icon, change it to your preference and replace the existing one.

Conversion to .vmp is a bit hard, as the file contains some kind of checksum and the calculation procedure afaik is not known yet.

I did however made a software that can inject mcr to existing vmp but it's very limited.
Your best bet would be to use CwCheat, which is known to work but must be ran on the PSP.

Love the MemcardRex Shendo, nice and easy.

Pass week I been using pSX emulator for the first time and using MemcardRex to change the save format from DexDrive Memory Card (gme) to pSX Memory Card(bin).

At first my save game weren't showing up in the program. I don't know why I think they were bad whatever, so I went to gamefaqs to get some fresh PS save game. All is well

Thank again.

Go to File -> Open and select the .mem file you want to convert.
When the card opens press File -> Save as... and enter a new name for the card.
Select the save type "ePSXe/PSEmu pro Memory Card" and press save.

wow dude thats exactly what i did, but still, when i try it on ePSXe it doesnt work ... im playing the real the legend of dragoon CD i dunno if that matters, but in emurayden it works... n when i convert it i cant make it work in ePSXe dunno what is going on ...
n if this is an important detail, when i open the memory card nothing appears in the memcardrex window, ... the product code, the identifier and the region are completely blank ...

I looked at the save in HEX editor and the card was empty, you probably were converting the wrong file.

Anyway I'm glad it worked for you.

That injector is very unreliable.
I suggest that you either try CWCheat or this(attached) if you are using popstation plugin.
