Good CD/DVD Reader for ePSXe

I currently have 2 drives on my system:

- Plextor CD-RW 12x10x32 (IDE)
- Sony 52x (IDE)

Both are masters and have DMA enabled. But I can't use the Sony to read the PSX CDs, all MDECs skip and song is choppy. However, the Plextor runs every game to perfection. But I don't want to "wear" my CD-R too much, so I was wondering which CD (DVD preferably) drive would read PSX CDs (all burned ones) well.

Thanks!

well if you have/had the original CD you could always make an ISO which would make the emulator read of you HD and make it run much smoother and faster

My pioneer dvd drive also has lots of problems with playing psx games, and yes, I also have a plextor that works much better. Anyways, ISO's are often the best solution, if you have enough HD space that is.
