Exclamation *other* functions of psone

my mini psone (scph 101), is it possible for it to run cd-r or boot disc?

i remember an old thread about burning videos to sdr format and it'll play on a psone, and photos as well, though it requires a ps cd builder and menu builder, as well as a ps that can boot cd-r, did anyone tired any of this yet?

also some ppl have been saying that the scph 100 model can boot cdrs without modchip, what about the 101 models? in other words, is there any boot disc for my console?

one last thing, psone does not support hombrew of any kind, correct?

thanks for the help.

i heard the swap method requires a psx disc and it wears out our unit faster, is that true?

the irony is that you use a psx disc to enable cd-r. which kinda takes away the point of playing backup copies of your real game, mine is an unchip mini psone so all my games were purchased but it's been 5 years and i sure hope i can find those dr cd repair kit because the disc aren't doing so good. T_T

i know what you mean. my ffvii disc 1 is wearing out and usually wont get past the ps logo... luckly, at least with this game, i can boot from disc 2 and then swap the discs after loading my game.

some of those cd dr things dont work well and end up making the disc worse. make sure to look them up online and get one that has good reviews

If it's the same method a cousin of mine used, you just need one legit disc of any random game, after that, you can use backups of your other games. So in case that one legit copy will get damaged because of all the disc swapping, you could easily buy a Barbie or Pacman game to replace it with.
