Backup copys
Im new to ePSXe. Im in the process of downloading the first disc of final fantasy 7, theres 10 files to download for the disc. When I try to extract the files anywhere with WinRAR I get this message: C:\Documents and settings.... The archive is either in unknown format or damaged. I have the actual FF7 game on disc but would like it for pc as well as my copy is used and scratched... So can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong please?

Oh, I read on other sites for systems like SNES that you could download any ROM/ISO so long as you have the actual game in your posession... Cuz my good file in FF7 I can't get Tifa's final weapon because it freezes before i get get in the right area on disc 3.. I forgot to get it on disc 2. If I create a ISO from my disc will that fix the problem, or remain the same do u think?

ISO burning
I have a few questions about ISO's and burning them. First, Im told you are allowed to have any ROM/ISO if you have the actual disc or game. True? Second, can you just download an ISO and copy that to a disc, instead of copying a disc to your computer, then burning it, to save time? When burning, what type of disc must you use, or what works best? Regular blank CD discs, or DVD-/+R discs, or is there a special kind of disc you must use? Can you use your burned/backup copy in a PSX/PS2? Or do you need one of those special chips? |

Yup, clean the disk the best you can. And that whole download any game when you already own it thing being legal is a crock of crap...because you only own the rights to your copy of the game, not every copy of the game Websites can write whatever the heck they want....they don't really care..

K so I know that downloading an ISO isnt allowed or illegal or w/e. I have ff8 but my friends lost disc 2... Its been missing for over a year now and both of them have moved and havnt found it. I really dont want to purchase a new game just because 1 out of 4 discs is missing. I wouldnt be able to download an ISO of disc 2 and make a backup copy to complete my game would I?

1.) True. As long as you have ripped/dumped them yourself. Downloading them over the internet (even if it is the same exact game) is still illegal. 2.) No. Downloading any commercial games over the internet are illegal no matter what. 3.) I've used all types of discs (for PSX emulation) and all different kinds worked fine for me. I never used DVDs though. 4.) You need a modchip to run Playstation 1/2 games. There are also other methods to doing this such as using swap disks. Standard backup copies can only be used for emulation on a PC unless your console is modded. I believe that modchip talk is also forbidden here also.

Google mod chip and you should be able to find one instantly.

But will you get support here? The answer is no. PS. I merged all your threads together. No need to create however many threads you made about the exact same topic. Just ask all your questions one after the other, there is plenty of time.

well that would still be illegal, but you can find sites that still sell psx games. Amazon.com: just go to sites like this and search. |
