What exactly is happening besides "doesn't work"? What emulator are you using? Have you unzipped the files?

I can play the games fine. But when I press the save/load buttons, nothing happens.

I'm using EPSXE.

Make sure that your save states folder is not read only. Has it always been like this?

Yes. I just changed it to non-read only, and it still doesn't work. When I press F1 to save and F3 to reload, it should take me right back to my last save state, right? Well instead of this, still, NOTHING happens.

I think the folder should be called 'sstates' by default for epsxe 1.6

to enable the save state feature.

is your save state folder called 'sstates'?

if not change it to that and it should work.

It is called "sstates" and I did everything you said. I un-selected "Read Only". I don't know what the problem is... is it the game that I play? Or do I have to configure it to do something?

ok try this:

instead of pressing F1 to save and F3 to load.

do it manually:

Play the game, click esc, go to the run, save state- slot 1

and do the same to load it but choose load save state- slot 1

* note enable logging by going on run tab, enable logging.

You should see a 'dos' type screen appear and when you do a sava state it should say that you've done one.

The enabling logging worked, but the save/load didn't. I think I saved it by going manually, but when I choose to load, all the slots under "Load" are greyed out.

I'm playing MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero.

I'm using 1.6.0.... if you say 1.5.2 works, I'll try that one.

It's on the hard drive, and I can play the game fine. It just doesn't save.

Celeron 1.6 Ghz, 50 GB HDD & 20 GB HDD, 1024 MB RAM, 128 MB ATI Xpress 200M
It's a laptop, but that shouldn't matter.

1)Try another game and see if the save state function works.

2) Make sure the sstates folder is in the root epsxe folder not in another folder.

3) See if your game saves on the memory card instead of savestate feature.

1) Ok, I'll try.

2) It is. I left everything the way it was.

3) I can save things on memory cards in this game, but I don't think the save states are on the memory card. I'll check, though.

not if your save state went to mecard.

you say that it saves so its all good bar the

save state thing.....

It's just the game I was playing, it turns out. For some reason, it works on MK Trilogy, but it does not work at all for MK Mythologies. Thanks for your help, though.
