PSX demos for download

Hello everyone,

Is there any place on these internets where I can find PSX game demos for download (like, CD images or something...) ? I want to play around with PSX emulation and Linux, but I don't want to buy games right now... Thank you in advance.

Well, if I wanted to wait a week until an illegal copy of a game arrives on my harddisk, I would just use one of the peer-to-peer programs. What I wanted to find out is if there are maybe free and legal CD images of disks from let's say, PSX magazines available for download. I have googled for that, without any success...

Hello Radeek and welcome to NGemu forums.
Sorry to say but I don't think you won't find anything about on the net. Meaby rewiews on IGN coulp help you to choose what game you want to play and then
you'll just have to make a jump on ebay for purchasing your games.

I wonder if these 'commercial demos' are free to be spread for download, as they had to be bought with magazines and all. All in all if you want to get a good idea about a game, just have a look at gamespot, Ign, and then read some reviews at gamefaqs. Usually that will give you a pretty good idea about a game

Yeah, I guess so... Magazines for PS1 are non-existent even on e-bay

Thanks anyway!

Are commercial demos legal for download? That would be neat, I have a ton that I could distribute. I don't know why you'd really want to play them though, unless you REALLY love a game (I have several MGS demos, for example).

Some games, like populous the beginning, have levels on demos that aren't inn the full as well as that there are often differences in the gameplay.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was talking about. I played all the different MGS demos many times and examined the details

From what I found out (or rather, didn't), I don't think commercial demos are meant to be on the web. Otherwise I would have found them by now...

You could always make a portal for forgotten PS1 demos for download, and see how it goes

Meh, I'm sure nothing bad would happen, after all there are MANY websites out there offering commerical full games out there and they haven't been shut down. That's beside the point. I'm just wondering if the magazines or the providers of the demos would be upset that their demos are being freely traded...honestly, I can't see why, but copyright holders are usually a little more sensitive about their stuff than the end users
