Ebay is a good place to. But be careful with the shipping fees. Sometimes sellers deliberately make them high to compensate the lower price of the object.

nowadays ebay, sometimes play-asia, or maybe the odd "local" store that happens to have a title I was still looking for (not likely).

There is no use looking for the games new Although there are still some out there...they are much harder to come by. I get all my PS1 games from ebay and my local game store. My local game store has a really good selection most of the time, and I've even found some more hard to find games there. Best purchase I ever made there: FFVII for $20, which I then listed on Ebay and sold for $88

I beated you! FFVII for 9 euros !(10 dollars)! from my local retailer..It's true that games like FF are sometimes overprized at ebay. In this case Amazon can be a good choice.

Oh, I saw one for 20 euros a while back here. That's slightly more, but it's not $88 (which is ridiculous!).
I think it was second hand....

When did you buy it though? This was not to long ago for me that I did this (a couple months back). I bought FFVII from this same store for $10 way back when it first came out...and I've even seen it there for $5 before.. I admit that the $88 dollars is ridiculous, but I started it at $1.00 on my listing I've done this twice with FF7 actually, also selling a copy I bought for $25 for $80. Maybe I'm just lucky , or there are too many people willing to pay insane amounts for games. If you find a copy of Valkyrie Profile or Suikoden II though...you can guarantee yourself about $100 bucks on Ebay though... I would just like to own both of those games myself though...at somewhere under $30.. LOL

It depends on what games you want. Amazon is still selling all the FF games (except 7..wow) BRAND NEW and EXTREMELY CHEAP. Go check it out if you don't believe me, FF9 is $15 with free shipping.

I used to get games at Gamestop all the time, but they stopped carrying PSX games. I haven't bought any in a while because of that.

I've gotten a few harder to find games on eBay (like Rally Cross 1 & 2). eBay is great because the prices can be super cheap, I think all the PSX games I've gotten had higher shipping fees than the cost of what I paid for the game.

What games are you looking for exactly? There is this place called Power Gamer around my girlfriends house. You might want to check to see if you have one in your area. I don't know though, they seem like they are an independent game store. That's where I get all of my new PlayStation games now. The only problem is that they are the Greatest Hits versions but that doesn't really bother me, since some of the Greatest Hits versions that I own even run better in pSX than the first releases. They have a whole bunch of other cool stuff like imported games/hardware. They also have old console cartridges. The imported games usually run about $40/$50/60. They even have a few Yobo FC Twins which I plan to get when I get more funds. They used to sell FFVII there for $20/$30 but they are out currently. The guy who worked there said that they should get some more shipments in the future but there won't be many more since they stopped making them since Advent Children came out. They also have Chrono Cross and all of the other FF games that were made for the PlayStation there too. I don't like the FF series or most RPGs in general but I still plan to get all of the those games when I can since I know that I can makes big bucks on them in the future . If you live in or near Maryland, I could tell you where the store is located.

Ow, it was at least two years ago..... It was from a french retailer called "Micromania". IIRC FFVIII and IX was at the same price but I was already playing to FFX.(Too much FF kills the FF.... )

I think if people buy their games at so high prices, it's because they consider them as piece of collection and also because they don't know where to find them at a reasonable prices.... At ebay, FFVII and IX are not often sold under 30 bucks....

I purchased a used copy of Namco Museum Volume 3 for my sweetie Charline, it was around $4, including shipping...There are some reasonable games on EBay...

Yeah well, they do that because there's no demand.

I remember when I was buying the Rally Cross games, I bid on two different ones and I won both. One of them I actually paid money for (like $4 + $4 shipping or something) and the other one, I just opened the bid at $0.99 and ended up winning because no one else bid! And I had to pay like 8 bucks to get it shipped -__-

I used to get some pretty good deals at a used gamestore around here, Valkyrie Profile used for $40 for example. Pretty good since I could sell it on ebay for possibly triple (I've seen it go at $120+).

Its closed though, so I guess I'm stuck with ebay from now on.

And yeah shipping sucks, like when I bought Megaman X3 for 1 cent but had to pay 7.50 shipping AND 1.50 insurance (gotta keep that penny safe I guess).

I have bought my games from local stores and from net auction. Star Ocean 2 - The Second Story costed about 50$ (converted to US dollars) and is the most expensive game I've ever bought.

Good deal. Occasionally you luck out at brick and mortar stores...I got Tool's Salival for $26 at a store when it goes for 50-100+ on eBay
