Need Help - How To Save in FF8 on PS2

I bought a Playstation 2, Final Fantasy 8 PAL Version and a Playstation2 Memory Card (16MB) yesterday. Now I can't save, it doesn't recognize the Memcard, I'm sure that it's inserted properly, I tried with Sonic Mega Collection+ (PS2 game). I tried Final Fantasy 9 also, it doesn't recognize the Memcard.
What I found out in another forum: I need a PSX memcard (for Playstation 1). Where can I get one? And what's the best configuration for running the game in ePSXe [where I can save] (I have all plugins)? Here's my PC:

mobile AMD Athlon(tm)XP-m 2400+
512 MB RAM
Radion X1600

Are there ways to get it to save with PS2 Memcard (Modchip, Exploit, etc)?

Yes, you must have a PS1 memorycard in order to save any psx game.
You can look on eBay for a memorycard.

If you decide to go with emulation read this thread.
