Dumping PSX Sprites
Sorry if this is already posted. I have done a search with no results.
My question is this... I want to dump a bunch of images from FFT including the weapon sprites. What would be the best program or way to do this? Please let me know! |

I am a newbie when it comes to game hacking so I may be wrong.
If the textures are not compressed, you may be able to view and extract them with a program called Tile Molester. However, Tile Molester is pretty complicated. You will need to spend a few hours testing out different settings in order to actually see the textures. Even so, they may not even be the right color since you are viewing raw data. You will need to extract the palette and apply them to view the textures with the correct colors. I can't help you there. My own hacking project as come to a complete halt because I do not know how to extract the palette from a PSX game. EDIT: You may also want to look into something called TIM Viewer. However, that only works for games with the .TIM format for textures. I very much doubt FFT uses .TIM, but you never know. Last edited by sb iq; November 16th, 2006 at 07:36. |
