Virtual Game Station (Sound Problem)

hello there,

i'm using VGS on WinXp with patches..for gaming everything works fine. But when i tried to play Rayman 1 on VGS, i get everything except CD music.
the game contains sound effects together with audio tracks that can be played on windows media player or CD Player. I'm wandering why i don't hear this music inside game..i KNOW I SHOULD HEAR IT. psx does that.

i have tried with ePSXe as well. can it be because i need audio cable connected from cdrom directly to sound card? that's the only thing i didn't do, well a little hard to find cable here...i will try later. if you know other ways or other emulator that does cd music in game from audio tracks tell me.

i like VGS couse no problem about plugins and not much options and problems with gpu. i don't need much from emulator just to play games that otherwise i cannot play on pc. like tekken, chrash, spyro, grand turismo ..etc

pls. help.
thanx

EDIT: I have tested this more. and i got results from ePSXe with different CD-ROM plugin. that does the sound. but i got bunch problems with video and stuff when i go with plugin's related emulator. i would really wish to firugre this to work under VGS, i got best results with that emu.

odd - cd audio works just fine here under VGS, allthough I didn't try Rayman.

I have that cable connected between cd-rom and soundcard, but I thought it wasn't needed under windows xp (not sure).

no Tekken 3 don't have problems at all that's wierd. and if the other emulators does music why than vgs don't.. true that other emulators don't do music on rayman on some CD-ROM plugins. when i change to other than it works.

can it be beacuse of CDROM drivers? or plugin for CD?..i will try to update drivers now..

if someone needs image for rayman i can send it so you can test it..ok?

for me VGS rules!

please don't write such things in here, because that's piracy and we don't tolerate it here

PS. It would be nice and very good for all of us if you read RULES and FAQs on this forum

yeah, vgs does quite rule. I'm glad I've got it working properly again.

VGS is one of my all-time favorite PSX emulators, especially when I want to play PSX games on older PCs. (600Mhz Laptop)

yes i'm sure. tekken 3 works with all audio.well to be honest i will have to try rayman on MINE computer. i never tried it before on mine comp. but here i have tried on 3 different comps and no luck.

what do you think is there anyone who can make fix or plugin or what else they did with stuff and patched first XP thing, than p4 fix, than other one.
are those ppl still alive and if they could make plugin for ePSXe that works with cd music, why not fix VGS too?

sorry about image stuff. i own original cd, and i ment to send for the testing purpose, like mine backup. you would delete it right away..right? another thing
it was reaaaly hard for me to find original to buy. i had to beg someone to sell me the game he owned. (i don't have way to pay with credit card, don't have one/can't have one actually, so i had to do this way for the cash,

are there any other emulators that don't need much plugins configuration.
i have problems with ePSXe trying to configure video plugin. vell the Graphic card is ATI Radeon 9550 GE! i hate that card "nVidia RULES" so much easier to fix this at home with N6600GT.

Really? You should visit the Netherlands... I still find the game on a regular basis in stores here.
But maybe just Rayman doesn't work with cd-audio in vgs then. no idea....

Oh, there's an emulator called pSX (http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/) which is rather good and a lot like VGS. Maybe it works for Rayman. The emulator needs a bios, like ePSXe, but no other plugins.

ah i'm soooo far from netherlands hehee. it would be more expensive to me to travel there than to reprogram whole stuff and make another game same as original just kidding but i'm far away.

well anyway i have fixed the problem. i want to serve comunity and tell that all i had to do is plug freakin' audio cable from cd-rom to soundcard, even i had to travel about 2 kilometers on 43 C, was SOO HOOT, but it's well worth it. Rayman has now full sound. well gues that VGS need that cable despite windows XP, but i still don't get it how did i get the sound from Tekken and not from rayman without cable. MISTERY

i tried that PSX emulator too and not so good as VGS. still the one and only got exists and i don't know why description of emulator says that graphic is not so good. when you fix the resolution it's more than enough.

anyway. thanx for help. nice site by the way.
