Still mod them...
Aside the fact I can just call up people and find out... Can people still modify their psx consoles? As in putting in a chip, do they still do that, or do I have to find a way to chip my slimline? (I don't wanna mod my slimline, not even magic swap) Because I am going to buy another ps1 console soon from a second-hand store and wondering if "modders" still chip these console if I can't find one thats chipped. |

PSX is easy to mod. If you want to do it the easy way, just open up a PSX console and use superglue/tape to permanently hold down the drive switch, and then just use a gameshark to swap out your game. Or, you can always buy a modchip and do it that way, but modchips are a pain in the ass to install, and I don't know if any professionals do it anymore...

im sure the professionals do it--from all accounts i've heard, it's easy as cake (compared to PS2 anyway). or you could just emulate, no need to mod anything, and you can play all your *cough* backups *cough* |

Yeah I know I could just emulate things, but its still doesn't feel good as playing it on a playstaion, I've lost that game-play feeling when playing on emulator recently. My old (and destroyed) playstation one I found out that the modchip was ducted tape to the console!
