Huh?
Wrong forum.

Anyway, try switching over to the pSX emulator.

This is "pSX forum", not "cvgs forum", I am moving this thread for you now.

Although, I like the others would suggest you to use another PSX emulators since cvgs is no longer being updated, many bugs of it remain unfixed. You may try pSX, it is the closest emulator you can get to resemble cvgs.

There are various patches you can use with vgs available from www.aldostools.com but I doubt any of them will solve any graphical problems you may be having. Do get the games.txt file from there though as it does improve compatibility in many games.

On an unrelated note, why when someone needs help with VGS is peoples first answer "try another emulator." can't they even try to solve the problem before recommending another piece of software.

But agreed, it'd be quicker to gain that help if you post in the correct forum to start with.

well, it's because VGS is outdated. it's cool, but outdated. there are much better emulation options out there, and you probably will go through less hassle.

there are two trains of thought here. it's like, for example, if i ask "how can i make my steam car work?" mostpeople would say, just go get a gasoline powered car and save yourself a lot of trouble. but then again, you might want to use the steam car because of sentimental or historical value. just switch VGS with steam and ePSXe with gasoline, and the analogy is complete.

I don't have a problem with people recommending another emulator, it's when they do so without even trying to think of an answer to the asked question.

It's like a guy with an old steam car (to use your idea) wanting to find parts to repair it only to be told to buy a new petrol powered one everywhere he goes.

After all, why would you want to buy a new car just because one part has gone wrong on your old one, why not just fix the old one.

Could you please post your computer specs. Is your computer new? old? what's your graphic card? gforce? s3? ati? how much ram do you have? stuff like that. That way we can either figure out if the problem is with the emu or if it is with the computer...

emurayden discussion isnt allowed, like you said, it's a hacked version of VGS, and it's illegal.

oh sorry bout that... I thought that since we could talk about cvgs, we could talk about it's hacked up versions... I mean, someone made a reference to aldostools which has patches for cvgs (basically the same ones used on the emulator which is not to be named). my mistake, I'll edit my post then.

aldostools is patches for VGS, that's all. it doesnt give you the full program. emurayden is a hacked version of VGS, distributing the original (copyrighted) program for free (and hacked).
