I've a few things I actually need for a project (surprised? maybe) I need 1) a method for find this pesky number off the disk image. The most common way is to read the disk and look for the ?????.exe this does not work with all games as not all manufacturers used the ID for the game executable (mutter) some of the very early games did not do this for some reason. Using the ISO image information doesn't work as well, because Sony in there great wisdom did not specify what most of those fields should be SAVE (SYSTEM) is always PLAYSTATION (not particularly useful is that?) Many manufacturers later on stoped using the Volume and publisher fields all together which of course makes identifying the game.. difficult at best. 2) a list of the ID numbers so I can identify each game acurately. What am I doing? well I'm attempting to read playstation disk information and know what game it is to view the data on the disk. Nothing more, but it's a pain to for example identify Final Fantasy 9's disk/disk image because guess what? that SLUS/SLES/SLPS number is ALL I've got to use and it's not perfectly consistant on all games. Cyb - a bit frustrated |

one way to do it is to download ePSXe and the ePSXeCutor frontend for ePSXe. go to create a profile for a game in ePSXeCutor by right-clicking in the open white space and choosing New... When the dialog box opens up, there's a button that says "Read ID from game CD" and a dropdown box next to it where you chan choose which cd drive to read from. pop your chosen playstation game into whichever drive you intend to use, set the dorpdown box to the drive you put the disc in, and press the button. It automatically puth the disc ID into the little blak boxes to the left of the button. |
