CVGS Ratio Patch?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to force games in CVGS to fill the screen. I know CVGS uses the actual psx ratio, but some games don't use the "common" psx resolution, and this causes black lines around the screen. Anyone know of a patch or a fix?

I know, I may seem impatient. But, infact, I was just concerned my thread would go unnoticed, due to the "bump" as you put it. This site does that alot. (By bump, you mean current threads randomly disappearing only 5 mins. later right?)

In any case, yeah I checked aldo's site, he always has good VGS stuff. But, he didn't have anything like it. So, if anyone knows of one, cool. If not, it's all good. I was just curious.

Can you mention a few games that do this? It seems like an uncommon problem to me.

The Lunar series mostly. There are black bars around the screen while playing. Normally I would just compensate with my screen controls, but i'm playing on a laptop. Most games don't do it, but a good amount do. Although, Lunar is the only one I know of at the moment doing it.

hm :/ sadly I don't have Lunar here to verify it,
so I can only give a few standard suggestions,
like running the latest vgs (1.4.1), with the all in one patch (can be found on aldo's site)

Yep, the VGS All-In One Video Patch does have an option to stretch the graphics to full screen.

Also "Bump" means posting in your own thread to move it back to the top of a forum.

Yes, i'm guilty of "bumping" then, if that's the definition.

But, unfortunately, the full screen stretch only stretches the screen for higher resolutions, but even when you do that, the actual game screen is still positioned funny in the screen if the game's native resolution is an uncommon one.

Here is an attached screenshot of the problem. As you can see, there is black bars on the top, bottom, and right side of the screen. I know it's not my video card drivers, or my os, because it does the same on my other computers.

Hmm, if Aldo's software didn't help, then I honestly don't know what else it could be....

FrostyTheSnowman, if you still can't get your issue solved, why not give pSX Emulator (v1.4) a try?

Hmm, haven't tried pSX yet on this PC. You see, it's an older laptop that I use at work when it's not busy to play the Lunar series, and CVGS is flawless on it aside from the black lines. Here is my laptop specs:

Pentium III Mobile 600Mhz
384MB SDRAM @ 100Mhz
ATI Rage 128 8MB AGP 2X
12GB Hard Drive
6x DVD-ROM Drive
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2

(Pretty extreme, isn't it? )

Well. At least its playable using ePSXe by tweaking its settings correctly.

Anyway, just follow ready2rumbelX instructions and you would do fine.
