Does Bleemcast work with other PSX games?
I noticed on the writing on the back of the Bleemcast packaging the words: 'Don't blame for anything that happens if you try using it with others games or hardware'. Now obviously it is not going to work on any other hardware, but has anybody tried any other games? And do they work?

No, it doesn't work with other games. Probably that is meant for 2 reasons:
1) To scare people away from trying to crack it to allow it to play other games. 2) Cover their own asses, in case someone does crack it, and somehow playing another game DOES cause problems (I'm not really sure what problems it could cause... Maybe if another game were played, and it had really bad sound, it could damage speakers or something. Who knows...)

Try reading M2's sticky on this forum, Hadji. While I won't argue that your point is invalid, that was NOT the only reason for going with the format they did.

What the hell are you guys talking about?!??! He was asking about the DISCLAIMER on the packaging! I was explaining why they put that disclaimer there. He didn't ask why they went with the format they did. He asked about the disclaimer, and was asking if it played other games. "THEY COULDN"T DO IT." doesn't answer either of those questions, hence why I did not respond with it.
Jesus H. Christ, if you hate bleem! and bleem, inc, that's fine, but that doesn't give you an excuse to be a complete idiot.

If Bleemcast could be hacked (which would mean extracting and reburning the CD (if it is a CD and not a GD)), surely it would be a matter of changing the product code from GT2 to whatever... (or even changing your PSX games' product code to match GT2)...

I highly doubt it. Rand said this was more or less a specific configuration code along the lines of a super .ini file. Even if by some miracle some other game used exactly the same configuration of GT 2 (which is extremely unlikely), it would take a whole lot of coasters to find something else that would work. Basically, if you like GT 2, the first disk of bleemcast's for you...if not, you'll have to wait around for some other game to pop up.

Hi, I eventually got my Bleemcast CD (from http://www.bleem.co.uk/), and had a look at the bleem4dc.ini file on the Bleemcast CD. Surely enough, all it contains is entries for all of the product codes for all versions of Gran Turismo 2 inside (and some flags, and even a debug setting). Now, following on from my previous post about changing product codes, I realise that it may be difficult to modify the bleem4dc.ini, but it would be easy to change any PSX disc's system.cnf file to make it the same as GT2. I have been able to extract all of the files on the PSX CD to my PC using IsoBuster, and I have been able to modify the system.cnf to insert GT2's product code, but now I need to put all of these files back into an ISO image (to test my new ISO), so I can burn a CD. I have a copy of mkisofs, which enables me to create an ISO file from the command line, but the problem is is that I am limited to the number of files I can add to an ISO image. I have heard that Easy Cd Creator can create ISO files, but I do not have a copy of that, does anybody have experience with creating PSX CD's using this method (dragging files into an ISO image using Easy Cd), or does anybody know of any software that can create (PSX) ISOs?
Thanks

cdrwin can make an iso from a bunch of files. you just need to use the backup option.
once you make the iso, im not sure if itll work as a psx disc, so you may want to try it on an emulator or an actual psx if you can..

As you can guess, no, I wasn't successful in making Bleemcast run other PSX games
It seems that Bleemcast may be checking for other data on the GT2 disc. If you read the loading screens/packaging I thinks it says somewhere that it will tell you if you have the buggy version of GT2 or not, so therefore it must look for specific data at a specific area of the PSX disks. But all was not wasted, I have learnt how too make my own PSX ISOs and I can put my own files into the ISO, and as a consequence I found some nice Arcade emulators for the PSX, that run Space Invaders and stuff at http://www.doubledutchdesigns.com/, these work on PSX emulators too! and they run very smoothly indeed.
