Because there are some SPU functions that FFT uses that ePSXe doesn't emulate yet.

I just tried out FF Tactics and I had no problems with the sound, even using internal epsxe core

You have to remember this thread is nine months old. Sound has improved since then.

FFT Master here! I use Lewpy's and I know that the map is screwed up but battles are great! The speed from Lewpy's is a plus. Pete's DX7 seems to slow down when attacked by some monsters. And I also use Eternal SPU since it gives the best sound and music, I would know as I spent 2 years playing it on a real PS so I know what it sounds like.

Yeah, I'd definately reccromend the Eternal sound plug-in, on my machine, it plays the music perfectly, and the sound very close to perfect. Also, I'm using pete's ogl 1.56 and the battle areas look great but the sprites look a little rough at high resolutions, and the map is all black when I'm not moving, should I use something else or are these problems common on all gpu plug-ins?

Hey, has any one of you got problems when trying to play Final Fantasy Tactics? With me it crashes just as it tries to show the opening movie!

I'm using:

scph1001
Pete's D3D Driver 1.56 (GPU)
Eternal SPU plugin 1.10
ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.4.0

I'm using Windows XP Professional
My copy of Final Fantasy Tactics is a copied CD, not an original
Help me!

The only bug I've seen with Lewpy's GPU so far is that some menus (like the Tutorial sub menus and the battle Inherit ability from crystal menu) have no text on them - bad texture windows I suppose. I had problems with flickering menus, but setting experimental flipping back to off fixed them. Strange, since it's listed as recommended for FF games

Experimental Flipping is required for FF7, FF8 and FF9. Without it, the battles menu doesn't appear. I don't think that FFT needs it.
