Whats the best PSX emu?

Im a newb and would like to kno which PSXemu is better compatibility wise. I think someone should make a
compatibility list for these emu's that would be nice to know which games work better on each emu.

and my comp specs are 2.67ghz and 512ram
my graphics card Nvidia Geforce4Ti 4200 with
AGP8x 64MB

This belongs in the PSX emu section. Compatibilty wise, ePSXe and PCSX are considered the best.
moving...

I guess trying different emus and seeing what works best for your PC like everyone else is just too much trouble for you.....
I will use hours of time to assemble a huge list just for you O great one

I didnt mean to come off selfish but what I meant is like we all help each other out by building up a compatibility list for the emu's. This way we wont have every newb asking the same questions right makes sense to me.

The most compatybile is VGS, then ePSXe (it's better to have both 1.5.2 and 1.6.0 versions), PCSX or PSXeven (which for example runs fine Persona 2 - ePSXe freezes a lot during this game). AndriPSX is worth seeing as well

Sorry, I couldnt agree with you. If you want compatibility, try ePSXe with PeOPS GPU plugin, it's way over VGS that way. I consider ePSXe as the best PSX emulator too.

Hmm perhaps you're right Kellicros, however when you want to play on some old computer, like for example Pentium II VGS is the best choice. I use three emulators: ePSXe, PSXeven and VGS and I have two computers: Duron1300 with GF 2 MX and Pentium II 350 with some ATI card. Having checked various configs in both ePSXe & PSXeven on the latter system I dare to say that VGS has no match here. Other story when the emulators were checked on my Duron, where ePSXe wins because of better graphic quality, but for example Tekken 3 still runs slighly better on VGS. Some people also do not like ePSXe because of all this configuration stuff, they'd rather put a game CD into the drive and play instead of playing with varius plugins.

Thanks allot for all the good responses! Ive tried Epsxe and so far its been my fav the graphics looks real good with the plugin PeteOpenGL2. Parasite Eve 2 played perfectly and looked awesome but ff7 and ff9 had a lil slowdowns usually during battle well I didnt expect it to be perfect so far epsxe has been very good.

On my other Pc AMD 2100 I overclocked my Graphics card and now the audio sounds distorted. I set my graphic card back to normal and it still sounds muffled and disstorted! I thought there was something wrong with my sound card but everything else sounds good except the emu. I also tried various sound plug-ins and still sounds disstorted. Im stumped here what you think can be the issue?

I think I kno now whythe sound is messed up in the emu. I read somewhere on the epsxe faq that the emu is very sensitive to overclocking. What I dont get even if I clock it back down it still messed up but overclocking has to be the prob to this. When I overclock I notice the games runs slower too when I clock it down it plays normal but with very bad distorted sound

Cool

ePSXe runs 85% to 90% of all PSX games. PCSX and PSXeven are right behind making them worth getting and using as well. Plus, there are some games that won't run on one emu but will run on one of the others. So it all boils down to this: The best PSX emus are ePSXe, PCSX, and PSXeven. Get 'em all, enjoy 'em all. I did and I do.
Sound issues? Try peopsdsound108. It is the one I use w/ePSXe and it is simply excellent. It has cleared up sound issues in several games for me, maybe it will for you as well. Give it a try.
sincerely,
sx/amiga
