Final Fantasy 8 Pal

Hi, i have a problem, i have FF8 Disc 1 Pal, but when i try it on VGS 1.41 with video Patch XP, the game won't load... it keeps showing the Loading screen, and don't show the game at all...
Does anyone know what i can do? Do i need a patch or something?

Don't use VGS. ePSXe has support for dealing with the copy protection on FF8 and later PAL games.

ohh ok, thanks for the advice i will use ePSXe =)

Edit: i got it working in VGS, i apply a patch to remove the protection, and now it runs. but i have this problem... i can't see the battle menus... :S
there's a way i can fix now this??
it works with ePSXe but it runs very slow because i don't have a powerfull PC

What your pc specs. post it here so we can advise you about selecting which plugin.

which plugin is the best for this specs?
P4 1.8 Ghz, 256 MB DDRAM, Gforce 4 MX 32 MB, DVDRom 16x, Windows XP Home...

Well, that pC is good enough for psx emulation. I recomend you use this settings:
GPu: Pete OpenGL (not opengl2)
Spu: Peops Dsound
Cdr: Peops Cdr
If you are new to epsxe you'll need Bios. Dont ask it here cause it is illegal.

i recommend Eternal Lite for sound and Sapu's for CDR, they are a little easier to use and eternal is faster than Peops Dsound.

thanks the game works fine now, and i liked a lot that emu ^_^ but not all the games run well, for example, FFVII runs, but the movies are too slow, and the fps drops to half for a second, and the screen freezes for that second, maybe it's because i'm running from a CD, i searched for the forums and change all config but no result... anyway for this game i will use VGS

(i don't like have the games on the HD)...

Edit: i think it's not the CD Driver, because i tested other games and their movies run just great!! just happens with FF7 and MegaMan X4, i turned off the XA CD music, and the movies looks ok in both games, but no sound now... but the same freeze problem in FF7, i'm using the latest Pete GPU

Hey, you can use some utilities to control your cdrom speed. The game should run in smooth. I recomend Nero DriveSpeed.

yeah, thanks a lot, i will try that, it's weird, because only happens with FF7 and some other games, and it should run smooth on all... (when i disabled the CD sound the videos runs very well, but i want sound on the videos) in VGS all games runs ok, but the graphics are bad...

I fyou are using peops cdr driver. I recomend you use this settings. My epsxe run game smooth with this setting.

Эх... я бы тоже не отказался поиграть in Final Fantasy, но пока что не имею для этого не каких возможностей. Вот на днях, скачал эмулятор, теперь осталось купить CD Final Fantasy и DVD-ROM, на мой скромненький computer.
