Connect a PC 2 PSX ?

I want to know if it's possible to connect a pc to a psx. i have a power replay modul and there is a slot for a comm cable. i've put the cable in my pc and in the modul, but nothing happened. need i drivers? my os is WinXP pro, normally all drivers will be installed automaticly. oh, and i'm german, so my english isn't good, i hope you understand

i hope you can help me, perhaps i need some software (?)
