Can a PSX emu emulate this?
Someone asked me if it would It be possible to emulate extra ram for a PSX emu or emulate an ability to overclock the CPU of the PSX on an emulator. I told him that since the real psx never had a ram expansion pak of some sort i dont think it would be possible to emulate extra ram. Besides the PSX is powerful enougth for the games that are available for it, right?

I asked a similar question way back when. The answer from well known emu/plugin authors were that emulated Overclocking of the psx would screw with the timing of various components. Making them either incompatible or not work.

well technically if you wanna be a dick about it, isnt turning on all those texture filtering/2xsai sort of like adding extra RAM? im sure it takes more than 2mb vram (like PSX) to run those things

Well maybe they are just looking a bit of extra speed to their games? in which case you could up the fps limit manually to active such an effect.
