Emurayden problems.....
Okay, I bought FF9, discs and all, hoping I could emulate it using a PSX emulator. But all emulators just seems to start up when they sense the FF9 disc in the drive, but fail to load it once the emulation program itself is loaded. I'm simply stuck at the loading screen for hours and hours. What is going on? How do I fix this and have them recognize the discs? Help please. EDIT: Except for Epsxe, but that seems to fail loading the plugins every time I start it up even though I know I've downloaded and loaded them correctly. :cuss2: |

Re: Emurayden problems.....
if you have the PAL version of FF9, you ll need a PPF patch to make it work in ePSXe Yours, -Elly

Re: Emurayden problems.....
Exactly. ... and as a hack it is not supported here. Normally I would close this however he does refer to psx emus in general, so I'm letting it go for now.

Re: Emurayden problems.....
For epsxe, I'm using 1.60 as the version and I'm using gpuPete's plugins for graphics, I have scph1001.bin and for sound I have spueternal 1.4 or something like that. It gives me the same error, however: Can't load plugins correctly. And I do have all plugins placed in the proper directory.

Re: Emurayden problems.....
PSXeven? I gotta find that one. Never heard of it. And Lord Kane: Ther ARE no plugins with TSG in the title of them. So that can't be the problem and epsxe didn't say that particular .dll was not found. It simply said it couldnt' load the plugins. Okay, found PSXeven and it runs FF9, however, it runs it either WAY too fast (or if I use the max FPS limit of 200) WAY too slow. There is no inbetween. rawr....

Re: Emurayden problems.....
holy, 65 made it too slow, 200 was still slow, but 60 just set it perfectly right. How the heck?! Some magical number I guess...... Now my next problem. I'm using the sound thingy that came automatically with PSXEven, and its jittering and cutting off sound every couple seconds. Sort of like stuttering. Any way of fixing this? Any magical settings to use? |

Re: Emurayden problems.....
Okay, I tried the Eternal SPU sound plugin and it works a lot better, but becomes even worse than the automatic sound thingy when I enable frame skipping. However, with frame skipping off, it sounds a LOT better, but there is still 'some' clipping here and there. Any way to remove it completely or is it just a thing of psx emulators?

Re: Emurayden problems.....
I dont know whats the clipping "thing" you are talking about, but you can try these settings for the SPU plugin ( check attachemt) BTW: you can enable the old frame skipping method if you are having troubles with frame skipping Yours, -Elly

Re: Emurayden problems.....
Okay, the fix, was pretty simple, I disable frame skipping entirely, that stopped any sort of stuttering in the music. However, it does play a little slow, but I guess I'm fine with that. Guess it is emulation after all and you can't have it all perfect, but at least the worst problems are gone. EDIT: Whoa, I got to the FMV where Garnet is sad and Steiner is going to start the show and the lights dim and the fireworks are about to fly, and then it starts going quirky and then quitting altogether and skipping to the next part after the FMV. I quickly escaped and checked the cd for any scratches, none. And it did the same thing again! o.O help? Last edited by DarkFlameWolf; October 25th, 2003 at 06:17.. |

Re: Emurayden problems.....
Just make an iso, it should run fine from there, also, if there is a little stutering caused because of the loaidng times while music is playing, they will be gone.
