Games run at about 30-50 FPS no matter WHAT!

Sorry about this, but I've got a problem. I've used three emulators (AdriPSX, EpsxE, and PCSX), hordes of plugins, ran the games from CD, ISO, and Daemon Tools, and the problem comes up every time!
I've used emu's for years, so I don't know what's up. See, when I play, the game runs at like 50 FPS. The games (I've tried many) run slow! And I don't know what to do! Could one of you kind souls please help me? I am desperate, and I didn't know where else to go (I'm also new at these forums). So won't you please help me? Thank you in advance!

Well if you post what plugins/settigns you are using, maybe we can spot what's up.
Just saying it's not working is like calling up a mechanic and saying 'my car's not working, what's wrong?'

Ok, here you go:
Video- Pete's OpenGL 1.7.3
Sound- SpuEternal 1.4.0
CdROM- CDRMOOBY 2
Pad Plugin- Dr. Hell's WinMM Driver
Bios- SCPH1001

Is that enough information, or do you need more?

And by the way, I just discovered that it isn't running at 30FPS, it's running at about 1.4-5 FPS, and I KNOW that's not normal.

Well could you use the 'Copy Info' button in Pete's plugin to paste the info here?

OK, as I suspected, you need to install your video drivers. You are currently using the default XP installed drivers.
Do you know what card you have and where to get them?

Re: Games run at about 30-50 FPS no matter WHAT!

Go to the Start menu and click "Run". Type in dxdiag.exe and hit enter. When it finishes loading click on the "Display" tab. Your video card will be listed there.

Re: Games run at about 30-50 FPS no matter WHAT!

As you sato me you have a geForce 2 MX, you can just head over to www.nVidia.com and find the drivers there.
FYI, n_w95482, the easiest way to find out what card you have in XP if it's using the GDI driver is to right click on the desktop and go to properties > settings. It then shows what card you have if it's supported by XP by default. The DXDiag method is less likely to work.

Re: Games run at about 30-50 FPS no matter WHAT!

But it mentions the chip type for the gfx card and that should be on there even with the generic drivers. It should also tell you the VRAM size. When I ran my old comp with generic VGA drivers I think it still told me the gfx chipset name. I'll test it on my comp right now.

edit: I forgot you could check it by going to the display properties . Thanks for reminding me LK.

edit2: I tried uninstalling my gfx drivers so it would use the generic drivers. I tried using both ways to identify my gfx card and both of them didn't work (nothing for the display properties, lots of n/a's in dxdiag). Windows then crashed on me and I had to restart but when I did it loaded up drivers for the card (I don't know where they came from). It identified the card both ways without any probs. I then reinstalled the omega 3.6 drivers. I swear the generic drivers identified the chip on my old comp but I guess it must work differently for each comp. I'll see if I can test it later on my old comp.

if you have a geforce 2 use.

30.82 drivers theyre highly optimised for the geforce 2 and mx cards like mine.

and if you have atleast a 1200mhx processor you WILL get full speed on all your games with the correct settings..

have a look at kanes configs and then adjust accordingly to match your system..

good luck.
