Unhappy RPG: FRAME skipping

Greetings to you all,
I would REALLY appreciate if anyone would have the kindness and generosity to answer my question.

Is there any way to frame skip on epsxe? You see, when you were playing games like final fantasy on znes, you could frame skip and auto-fire, you could gain levels and gold ten times as fast! This is what I'm looking for in epsxe and I'm wondering if such an option exists. If so, could anyone tell me how to activate it?

For those who are wondering, I have spent quite a lot of time trying to find this option to no avail. I have also checked the other topics and threads on the forum, so it's not like I haven't tried!

Thanx a lot in advance.

You can disable frame limits using the in game quick keys (Delete, Home, PGup/down....)

Thank you Kane,

I have tried that but I can't get very good results. Still, it's suprising, I have a PIII 900 mhz and a geforce2 32 mb. I guess I can't expect great frameskipping speed as in say Znes or VisualBoy... I suppose putting very low details and resolution might speed things up a little right?

Thanx for all of your comments and answers!

I've finally managed to get a good frameskip. Is there any possible way at all to get a limit higher than 200 fps? If so, could you tell me please?

For all of you Nvidia Geforce user out there, try the openGL plugin, it works wonder!!

If the limit is disabled (empty box on the ingame config), it'll go as fast as it can.

I see,
When you're saying that it will go as fast as it can, how fast can you get? I'm getting something like 150 FPS max. Do some of you get more than 200 fps??

Thanx

This might seem like another annoying question (and maybe it is) but I can't find what FSAA is! I've checked on your site Kane and couldn't find it either...

FSAA: Full Screen Anti Aliasing. It's a method fro removing jaggies and crawling textures. It's an option in your graphics card's advanced menu. However, the GeForce 2's FSAA is crap at best. The Supersampling algorithm produces little IQ improvement for a stupid overhead.

Riiiight, Supersampling algorithm, sounds advanced. Here's a last question if you feel like answering it (I kinda get the feeling there's only two people on the forum =-) I always get big slowdown whenever there's transparency involved. What's the best way to fix it?

Well what are your current settings. It's easier that way to spot a problem.

Enable Alpha-Multipass.

What CPU you got under the bonnet... that might be your issue.

You're the computer expert but it feels slower when it's on. BTW, I've noticed your posts are faster than your own shadow, do you work here or something?

I got a 933 mhz, 500 MB of RAM, 10go hard drive. Do you need anything else, oh yeah a GEFORCE2 32MB.

PS: I won't be able to post my own avatar before I have 16 posts right?

Hmm... I'm not sure... I never run in 1024x768, but a 933 shouldbe able to handle it well... unless it's a Via or Intel Celeron....

>(scared) Mister, are you a robot?

Might explain a lot.
