Question What are the minimum specs for VGS?

I've just bought some old laptops from eBay(really old, around about 133mhz), and I'm planning on getting VGS up and running on these old laptops as soon as I receive them. But, will it work? What are the minimum specs for VGS? Memory, CPU speed? Anyone been able to get it working on a Pentium 1 system?

If VGS won't work on these laptops, are there any alternatives to a emulator that can work with such low specs?

well...... you can run VGS on that system, as 133 Mhz is the lowest requirement for VGS... , for video like 2 mb and for memory, like 16 Mb

I have been able to run VGS on a friend's P1

you can run it, but beware becuase it will be very very slow, if i were you i would use bleem instead of VGS because it has more speed compatibility.

Here's a quote from ths VGS readme file:

Quote:
Required:
* Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows ME.
* Required: Pentium II, Pentium III, Celeron, Athlon, or compatible processor, 266MHz minimum (400 MHz highly recommended). MMX technology required.
* L2 cache.
* 32 MB of RAM.
* 75 MB of hard drive space.
* 16-bit video card (24-bit or higher recommended).
* Video card that supports High Color (16-bit color).
* DirectX 6.1 compatible video and sound card with drivers.
* 8x or faster CD-ROM or desktop DVD-ROM drive.
However, like the others said, it may run on your computer. But speed will certainly be a problem. You may also want to try bleem, but it has many compatibility problems. Anyway, both emulators are comercial, and are no longer under development. I feel you don't have much choice, I'm sorry.

Simply put, it needs MMX processors to run. DON'T use a Cyrix though, it'll lag up terribly. This CPU should only be used for calculators.

TIP: SaPu has a tool on his site that allows to run MMX applications on non-mmx computers.
