I think that there is no way to fix that. Try another emulator, like ePSXe. btw, you posted this in the wrong forum. This is an ePSXe discussion forum, VGS discussions should be posted at "Commercial PSX Emulators".

FM3 is almost unplayable in VGS. It freezes too much. (Actually, in epsxe too, but u can always use save states.). And u can't do a battle save. U can only save after the battles.

If you're playing FM3 using VGS, the main menu won't appear. It is there actually, but you can't see it. Just remember/guess the position of the cursor and select to start a new game or load. And the game has high chances to crash during battle animation. The only way to prevent this is to access the option screen and enable the skip battle animation function. When battle starts, skip all the battle animations by pressing the button. This might be frustrating, but it is the only way if you're insisting on using VGS. The best solution is to go for another emulator like ePSXe.

If I'm not mistaken, there is some ways to solve this with ePSXe. Well, I haven't used ePSXe for quite some times, so I might be forgetting something. It has something to do using an older version and certain configuration. Either way, I suggest you search at ePSXe discussion section, because I think somebody had brought up this problem a long time ago.
