Emu with Link Cable Support
Does anyone know which emulator (I found one a few months ago but lost it in computer change) that supports the link cable (for linked 2 console play)?
I suppose none of them support light guns, huh? Thanks in advance,

Take a look at the sub forum title.
AFAIK, no emu supports the link cable.

Yes there was...
Yes there is. I had it a few months ago. It had a provision for the COM port to be used between two computers. It was an older emulator like ePSX or something like that. fPSE ?
I dunno, but I got the impression it was older... Yes, PLAYSTATION, PSX.

fpse does not have pc-to-pc link capablilities that's not what the com setting was designed for. What the COM setting is used for is to connect psx pads to the serial ports of your pc so that fpse can use the pads natively (offcourse this means you'll need to build a psx to serial port converter...but that's not too difficult).
for GPUREND.DLL you need to put the psemupro plugins into the psemupro folder (this includes all plugins except for Pete's soft, eternal SPU, adn Sapu CDR these have native fpse support...I think nickk's gpu also falls into this catagory).

Oh, damn. That sucks. To me, the (link cable) was the most overlooked feature (and the coolest). Why can't the emulators support that - with multiplayer being what it is and all? I would have to think that the NETPLAY thing would've been harder to implement than the link cable support.
In fPSE, what is the Null Parallel port for...and is there a plugin for it that would support the link cababilities (isn't that where the link cable goes...or is it the serial...I can't remember and my PSX isn't in front of me...) Thanks,

Null Parrelel port would be for the same reason as the Com port I should think.
A plugin to do this? I don't think so. I think you'd actualy need to code the emu to do it.

There is no plugin or emulator that supports/emulates the link cable of the Playstation, yes the link cable was a cool feature, but not many games used this feature
The NETPLAY feature is a more practical feature to implement, since it basically simulates a 2nd player gamepad. Implementing a link cable would envolve coding the feature in at the emulator level...and from what I've seen, no documentation exists about the link feature
