Bleem last effort

Ok... it goes like this, the other day I got Chrono Cross (yeah, late... but it's better than never) of course I started playing it on epsxe, unfortunately it's too much for my poor cpu. Next option was VGS, wich played the game perfectly... if it weren't for a bug that doesn't allow you to see the item screen on the field screen (if anybody knows a way to correct this, please let me know). So I was bored so I tried Bleem (Bleem 1_6a) the mdecs were as beautifull as only bleem can show them but, no sound... anyway I started the game and to my surprise... IT WORKS ! well... almost, it crashes from time to time, but with the 3d acceleration it looks awesome... so, why am I writing this ? first because I would love an answer to the VGS bug (really...) and second and most importan of all... because bleem made a last effort for me... I don't think that the programmers of Bleem will ever read this, but if they do let me tell you this : "Bleem was a pioner, lot of ppl doesn't understand your work and while I don't think I understand it perfectly let me say that I'm grateful that I got it... it was a great job, should it be continued it would have become the best PSX emu ever... hope you don't quit from the emu scene".

Bleem sucked. Not because it has been discontinued but how the developers handled their matters.

The 3 guys had totally no respect for any copyright issues whatsoever, i don't either but i don't go around selling anything for commercial gains.

That is not the problem. They did not an inch of respect for their supports, aka distributors and resellers. I was attached to their distributor in Singapore at the time of incident.

They DID not close donw because they were sued. No.

Neither did they cloase down because they went bankrupt after they won the lawsuit against sony.

The reason they closed down is because of their lack of biz exposure. Those idiots were talked into making 25,000 copies of latin version of their software. CD english casing box in latin. It was really killing them day by day. So they had to just declare bankrupt and sell off, majority were thrown off.

I know it cos as i said i was attached to one of their distributors in asia. I was also said that they were extremely rude that led to many cancellations here. Lack of respect for ur biz. associates? You jolly well close down for good.

And i think they don't deserve respect cos thye did not do it for free or for the good of the emu. community. they did it for profit. epsxe fo the matter has won my respect cos they did it for the comm. not for self gains.

hail epse, down with bleem..

LATIN!?!? Are you SERIOUS!?!? Who are they gonna sell it to? Lawyers and Biologists!?
Last I heard there wasn't a country that had Latin as it's offcial Language anymore. (I could be wrong though, as I can't remember exactly where I heard that.)
But even if there is a place where latin is in regular use... It's still funny.

it's also the only emulator that can play Crisisbeat without needing tricks, and it runs the Gran Turismo games and Tony Hawks Proskater very nicely. It generally works better with NTSC versions than PAL versions though.

whatever...

I am working part time with:

http://www.eyestechs.com Have a look.

Now in regards to me bashing Bleem! Dude i am like 22 this yr and trying to grab attention is not my character.

If u belive it's fine if u don't it's fine as well, frankly i don't give bullocks. but it is the truth. I find it so damn funny that so many people go on supporting those guys even without knowing the kind of guys those three were.

I don't bash anyone if they got no reason for getting bashed. Bleem Inc., has been rude to my friends and all so for me at least i am happy that they r out of biz. Y teh hell u revere them so much when they had something commercial? they were somply after your $$$, if so, the avergage consumer is even harder to understand than I think.

In regards, to my 'story' i assure anyone readin this, it is TRUE. For those who don't believe fine, go on worshipping those ungrateful dorks.

And they were 'advised' about it by some latin distributor of theirs. This may explain why they hated distributors so much.

Still they closed because they didn't have any business sense.

I find it also funny a lot of people bash them without knowing the kind of guys they were. But I assume you spoke to them all personally? They came to visit you daily and stuff?

Maybe I'm a satisfied customer? Sorry, but it happens sometimes.

Sorry but saying "ungrateful dorks" doesnt exactly make your story more believable.

ok... it's happening what I feared... this is not a thread to fire Bleem (there are lots of them already)... so unless you got something else to say please do it in the "Let's fire Bleem" threads.

Unless you have a cpu slower than a k6-2 500 (@ 550, 600 was gettin funx0r on me) than epsxe should be running perfectly, unless you have a weaker video card than a GeForce4 MX 420 (yeah right)

A) They did NOT sell copyright games.

B0 As far as "no respect for copyright" goes: neither does anyone in the emulation scene in the technical since.

U.S. Copyrights last almost 80 years, and anyone into PSX emulation probably started with something like zsnes or snes9x or (like me) nesticle. all of these require emulators which will play copyrighted material.

If they didnt? The PSX bios is copyright by sony in any case, so anyone using epsxe (like you) is using illegaly copied copyright material. (the BIOS)

In theory, if you own the PSX, it legal, but its tenuous, just loke Roms and owning the original game

Bleem never has worked with XP. It's the only Wndows based PSX emu that doesent to my knowledge. VGS will run with the patch.

I know... I'm hoping someone will release a patched version of Bleem to make it usable on XP. (unlikely, but I can hope)
