Is there a way to run Vgs on a non MMX processor?

nope. it uses them as part of the emulation, so if it were to, it would be slow and probably messed up.

Yes it should be possible, using SaPu's MMXrun that you can find on: http://sapu.ngemu.com/index_e.html

Although, as cooliscool says, it probably will run too slow on a lowend PC.

I mean if you had a fast pc wouldnt it still run at a descent speed with non mmx support?

What about Celeron 333MHz? I thought that it was too a non-MMX processor. But VGS can run on it. However, it runs slow, or with too many frameskips.

All Celerons are MMX. Older Pentiums I believe before 166Mhz are not MMX. My P133 is not MMX.

So clear this to me, I mean the only advantage P2s have over Clereon was the bus speed?

Higher bus speed and more L2 Cache. However a 66Mhz Bus Celeron could be easily overclocked to 100Mhz without a hitch. Celerons are basically pentiums with half the L2 Cache and less Bus speed. The original Celerons had NO L2 Cache.

The Celerons also had on-die L2 cache, which ran at the full clock speed, while the Pentium 2 uses on-board L2 cache that runs at half the clock speed. Although it has a lot less cache the faster speed makes up for it most of the time.
