best choice?

whats the best emulator that can run Resident evil ? Epsxe crashs, while VGS have poor 3D support,.............any ideas?

No,ePSXe1.52 is the best here . Maybe you don't know how to config correct . Tell me what game have ePSXe crashed . I will help you . VGS was the best too for weak computer.

you should use epsxe ver 1.5.1 and enable the accurate cd-rom timing option or try even lower versions of the emu like 1.5.0 or 1.4.0. Also tell us what plugins and configs you're using so we can help you better

I actually think ePSXe has gone far beyond VGS in terms of everything except speed. VGS is still the fastest emu but not the most compatible.

alright,... i am running an AMD athlon XP 1800+ 1.54 GHz, 256 RAM, Nvidia G-Force II 100/200 MX 64 Mb card, epsxe 1.5.2, Pete Open GL 1.65.

note that i have all my configuration settings right, every single game works well, except for Resident Evil : Director Cut

actually , I AM using epsxe 1.5.2, but the game keeps crashing randomly?!!?

nope , it workd fine on my VGs, but i dont wont my vgs coz there is no 3D support!

I would suggest everyone with resident evil game problems to use epsxe 1.4 and enable accurate cd rom timing.

Try using an iso, since it may be a scratched disk.

Prafull, why did the accurate cd rom timing was removed from the new verions of epsxe? i thought this is a useful option??

It was removed because they made changes to the CD handaling and it was though unnessacery.
