Exclamation the best emus, .....VGS and Epsxe

alright everbody,.......did any notice that game compatible with epsxe are not compatible with VGS and vise versa? and now ,unfortunalty, VGS is dead and there is only Epsxe alive,...why not use the codes of VGS for Epsxe and compile them with the present plugins to create a new version of epsxe which highly compatible than all previous versions of epsxe and VGS? please dont tell me its illegal,...the new code will be a mix of codes used for VGS and epsxe and therefore its not a hack. besides, VGS is already dead, and no one, espeacilly sony, will know about that. another point, sony cant say a word since a legal Bios is need to operate the emulator, and this bios should be obtained from a psx system. this is a hot request for all programmers and emu authors, and please, i want a reply from the authors themselves!!!!!! thanks!

Also since Sony bought VGS the now hold the copyright. I doubt they would be happy when they found their property (the VGS code in a new emulator).

I found VGS to run just about any game, including the ones epsxe can run. PE2 is the only game in my collection that won't run at all on VGS. And as you probably know, VGS is commercial software and is not open source. The source code for VGS is not available. Furthermore you can't just mix the code and increase compatibility. It's like saying mix the code for Win 9x and NT for the most compatible and stable OS ever. It just doesn't work that way, you can't simply transfer over features like that (although the authors can learn and implement some new things from other code).

Wait up. There is no need to disect VGS and take its pieces out. Eventually newer versions of epsxe will run everything.

how can you be so sure? new versions of epsxe might not fix all bugs , you know. What i meant previuosly is to take advantage, if possible, of VGS high compability and compile them with epsxe's load states and 3D support to produce the ultiamte emulator which can run any PSX game smoothly. well this is all theoratical,...i believe its hard to that practically,......but this is just an idea.....that why i requested the authors' point of view to see if this is possible or not

ePSXe and VGS are programmed from different ends.
VGS was programmed to run PSX games on the Mac, and then the PC.
ePSXe is an Enhance PSX emulator. It was designed from the ground up to improve the games.

I see little point in running a soft GPU plugin with ePSXe, you may as well run VGS, with my new graphics card ePSXe and Pete's plugins make the games look great.

No, there's a PSX chip in PS2, no emulation needed.

and IIRC that chip is also used for PS2 games' sound processing.

the greatest advantage that vgs has over both bleem and epsxe is that you dont need a powerhouse system to do it.

you know how a k63 450 performs like a celeron 300 in most games?

can u imagine that same k63 450 on a 75 mhz fsb instead of a full 100 mhz fsb? (speed is further compromised)

but vgs was the only psx emu that would run tekken 3 full speed on such a low end system.

hats off to the connectix programmers, wherever they are.

No.

1. Both emus aren't open source(No one can get the source to VGS including the epsxe authors)
2. Different source codes would mean you'd need to probably rewrite some of the codes to compile them together.. It'd probably be easier to create your own code..
3. Use the software gpus for better compatibility in epsxe..
4. BOTH EMUS ARE NOT OPEN SOURCE!!!
5. New versions of Epsxe will fix bugs.. Every new version of epsxe since 1.0 has..

well all i have to say is we should not be thinking ahead of the creators of ePSXe, maybe they have theyre own plan in making ePSXe the best emulator around and not by stealing codes in a different emulator, they want to make emulator by themselves and by their own talent i think.
