What the max speed that Playstation CD's can go at?

I dont mean the PSX console, but the PSX CD, what the max speed that the PSX game CD go up to without getting damaged?

The same as normal CDs. It's simply to do with the quality of the drive.

From 2x to 16x of course . I think you can read it on CD tittle , right ?

But I wonder how speed it was in emulators ? Are there some ways to speed it up ?
