Question real playstation vs emulator

how many people have both expse and the actual playstation console?

it was the emulator that convinced me to buy the real thing!!

sony hates emulators but had the emulator not existed i wouldn't have been able to try playstation games so i wouldn't have seen how good they are.

what's everyone else think?

I used to have a PSX but not anymore. Now the only thing I have is the emulator. For most of my other emulators I don't have the actual console.

I do have them both, I began using the emus because I lend my console for a while to a cousin and I wanted to learn about psx emus. The good thing about the psx emus are that they offer additional features like the save states and almost infinite memcards, the graphics are enhanced as well. The bad thing is, they don't run 100% of games like the real PSX does and they never will.

I never had a PSX console simply because I don't know playing games with the pad, only on a keyboard. The most I try, the worse is my performance using the controller ! It's ridiculous, I really wanted to play right with the original controllers, believe me !!!

Actually those who dont have the console and are using epsxe are indulging into illegal matters

since i have a crappy system, i still sorta have to use the real thing, even though it barely boots games.

well the good thing about emulator is that it enhance every game better than playing it at PSX console and have many option that the PSX console has...

Also the best thing about emu is that its free and saves you a lot of money...

I do have a PSX console but I rarely use it for RPG, I use it for fighting games with my friends... and that is what the console edge the emu since netplay is so slow if you have poor connection

plus playing games in the real console after a long time is really draining, plus there is no savestate in the psx you just tire easliy and not play anymore after a long time. while emus enhances gameplay in my opinion, you can just pause the game and mimimize it or do savestate. and you can always just leave it on for more tham 24hrs and not worrying about the console blowing up.

savestate is really GREAT, no question about it. That's one of the reason why emulator is best beside the impreved graphic.

and being able to make screen shots by using programs like hypersnap, that could capture everything. w/o the need to buy other hardware and the screen is in high definition, the exact thing you would see w/o scanlines, and resolution is not capped by the 384 x 576 limit on regular rca/ s-video cables

I own a PSX, not the PS1, it's the good old big size one and I got it about 5 years ago.
Anyway, I prefer to play my games on ePSXe, 4XFSAA, 2XSAI, coolness.

the companies of other consoles have a reason to complain but not sony.

n64 emus mean the games are downloaded not bought, the same with gameboy advance but ps emulator require the real games to be bought.

i mean its the games where they make the money right? not the machine to play them on. why shouldn't we play them on a pc if we're paying for the software?
