No sound with CVGS 1.4.1 and SaPu's patch
So I've got XP Pro, CVGS v1.4.1, and SaPu's latest patch 07/23/02. Everything works great except for one small problem. I don't get any sound. Zippo, nothing, zilch. Anyone else have this problem? If so, know how to fix it?

I agree Gamer 1, but maybe another beta will be released soon. I don't have any kind of sound problems with the new patch 1.1. But don't worry, just wait for the next patch, cause I think they already know about these sound problems.Think positive !!!

the best way to play vgs on an xp/nt/2k machine is to get another OS and do a dual boot.

is your system upgraded to xp. or a native xp computer? if it is not an xp native, save all your files that you want to be saved over a network or cds and reformat your hd do a partition, put in the original windows that came w/ your pc on both partition, and do an upgrade on one of the partition. that way you can have a dual boot sytem, and have the best of both worlds

Hey all. I'm new here, obviously, but I'd just like to post on this topic because I haven't seen any information on it anywhere else. I have CVGS 141, yet for whatever reason, a number of sound channels are cut out of my games. Usually this includes speech and any special sound effects. Additionally, my friend has tried the recent patches, and had exactly the same problem. We're both running Win XP. Do the professionals know about this problem, and can they fix it?

Perhaps it's because of your Pentium 4 processor (?) I've never heard any problems regarding this aside from the Pentium crowd...

Belated Reply
I'm not sure my ASPI layer is super, but yes, I have a Pentium 4. I'm not really sure what's causing my problem, though. I've found it hard to get ASPI drivers that work, but the ones I have work well enough to allow (for the most part) difficult CD operations.
