CVGS Patch Problems

Im having trouble with CVGS XP Patch running games, I followed the instructions that are on SaPu's site about the patch but im having no luck on getting it to work for me correctly. The problem that I am having is that the XP Patch runs fine, whenever I put a PSX game in the CD Tray (Original or Copy) the CVGS XP Patch spits it out and still tells me to put in a Original PSX game. If you think you can help me out, then thank you.

this is a bug in VGS. you need to wait for the modchip patch.

How would the modchip patch benefit an original PSX game? I dont get how that would work, although I do get your point about it being a bug the modchip patch (in my opinion) goes way overhead. But dont quote me on that, im stressed from summer finals...

Well I´m not a XP user but when VGS split a CD in the first cases, was beacause it´s not an original PSX Game. In your case, maybe there´s a simple part in the code that not allow you tu put a CD games taht the emulator can recognize as original.

Maybe if you patch VGS with a mod chip patch (there are a lot of them) you may be able to run your game since the patch allow to.
I mean if you can use both types of CD´s, then why you have to be suffering if this problem can be solved with something like that.

Maybe I wasnt clear enough on the first post that I made about this, I tried BOTH Original PSX games and Copied PSX games, both the Original's and the Copy's dont work whatsoever, well I should rephrase that now. They work, but the screen goes black when you first start up the CVGS XP Patch, then it acts like its loading the game for about half a minute, then it spits out the game.

And to also add into this, I thought that there was no ModChip patch for the CVGS XP Patch. Although there are ones for earlier versions of Windows, like Windows 98. They dont seem to work with the XP patch whatsoever.

Patch the vgs.exe, NOT the XP patch with this (yet another) patch by Morlac, and try running the XP patch again. It should work this time.

This came from Aldo's Tools, btw.

First off before I thank you all, it sounded like to me when i read my previous reply to Seifer and Bgnome that I was angred at the fact of them saying something like that to me. I would like to apologize first off if I sound like that. Second, to Shiori, that patch does work for me, so thank you and to those who helped me out, thank you as well.

Ok, now its time to take back what I said about the patch working correctly for me (or is it). Right now, the patching works for me, but I now get two problems which. One, when I start start up the VGS Patch, it takes it a couple of minutes for it to start up, and reach the "Now Loading" screen (when I say a couple of minutes, i dont mean that in the sense of it loading up as if it was on a Win98 machine. And the second problem is that when it finally does reach the "Now Loading" screen, it takes even double the time for the game to actually boot up, with some games, it stops reading the CD even after it reaches the Now Loading Screen. If anyone could help me out with this new problem, thank you so much

I too have a problem with the VGS Patch, so i thought i would enter it here. When i use the patch, VGS works fine but the game that it loads freezes for 2 seconds frequently. The hang is not regular. I have tried many psx cd's that used to work perfectly before ie.VGS on Windows ME, but now any game i try to play, it freezes for 2 seconds and then resumes, and then hangs again. I have tried all the options available with the patch, but no use. My configuration is :
P-II(350MHz)
128 MB RAM, Windows XP Professional
32 MB NVidia Riva TNT2 Accelerator Card.

Could anyone help me with this problem?

Im just hoping that the CDRom bug is mysteriously fixed for me in this version of VGS. Although its good that someone was able to make a VGS patch that would work for XP, im just hoping that it may actually in some way turn out better than the original VGS... i dunno... im just rambling now...

Hey, wich patch is better: the one from SAPU or the all patch in one from Aldo???

This is because i got some slowdowns in the FMV´s with the patch from aldo.Even when i choose the priority

the aldo's all in one patch includes sapu's patch too. so there no difference between the two. Infact, aldo's patch also contains a fix for pentium-4 users alongwith other goodies. So its better to use the aldo's patch only. If u r still havin problems with it, then u will have the same problem with sapu's patch too.

I have noticed that when you play games that are always reading from the CD suffer of slowdowns (Castlevania: SONT), or when you see FMV (Star Ocean 2, Final Fantasy), but when you play games that only read from the CD sometimes (Valkyrie Profile) you can play them las if you be in WIN 9x.

Also some games that work on VGS 1.3 doesn´t work now.
Can anyone help me?? i have also installed the ASPI drivers.
