Best Emulator for FF9 & game pad
I have FF9 and I've tried running it in ePSXe and ePSXe doesn't support my InterAct ProPad 6, so I tried AdriPSX and it cuts off the right side of the screen. I was wondering if there is any emulator that supports input plug-ins and FF9. Or if there is any program that will run in the background and just convert my game pad buttons into keystrokes...
Well, here are my specs: Windows ME 500MHz Intel Celeron Verto GeForce4 MX420 (Only had PCI slots...) Toshiba DVD-Rom SD-M1212 64MB RAM InterAct ProPad 6 Not using sound Thanks |

What do you mean it doesn't support it? If your gamepad supports direct input, then epsxe should work fine with it.. Configure it in the controller config of epsxe..
BTW.. Epsxe is the best emu for FF9 hands down..

ePSXe is the best PSX emulator there is now... so just try fiddling up with the configuration a little bit or consult the place where you buy it.

DxDiag says it is supported. When I configure the controller in ePSXe, only J1_DOWN and J1_RIGHT are recognized. The Analog Sticks change from LX to LY when I press UP and back to LX when I press LEFT, but none of the buttons are recognized.
I use the standard game port. InterAct is very bad with support for this pad. The last driver update is from June 1999. The device properties consist of calibrate and test...no other options. Any other suggestions? |

Calibrate. And, there's also another trick I've noticed.
After you open the "Gaming Options" applet in control panel, go to the second tab, labled "Controller IDs". There should be a check box near the bottom that says "poll with interrupts enabled", and it should be already checked. Uncheck the dang thing and hit OK. Then, re-calibrate the pad if you want to, then test it with ePSXe. My gamepad wouldn't sit stil,l calibration-wise, when that option was on; turning it off should stabilize it somewhat.
